Gravatar Interesting- you say Knuuttila's announcement was staged--and Flanagan's isnt? You obviously have not put a lot of thought into this, rather, your pre-disposition towards the candidate you have already thrown your support behind- just look at the difference in article. By the way- which candidate chose to make their announcement in your town? Which candidate has been in your town campaigning more in the last three months? But obviously you are more impressed with the show than you are with the real work of campaigning.Did you bother to list the accomplishments of the former state rep in your article of him? Did you list the number of elected officials that endorsed him in his candidacy?- noticably missing. And seemingly you failed to mention that Mr. Knuuttila is not an incumbent legislator, with money already available to him to spend, as Ms. Flanagan- a considerable difference. I thought you knew something about politics here.

Gravatar Curious, it looks like you must have just skimmed my post. While I didn't use the word "staged" in my analysis of Flanagan's event, I did compare it to a corporate event or a wedding reception. I think "staged" is pretty well implied in my description.

Further, I wrote that I attended Brian's kickoff in Clinton (not my town, I drove out of town to see that one too) and that I have been impressed both with his hard work on the ground and his willingness to talk with voters (as he talked with me after his kickoff event). In the item I posted about Brian's event in Clinton, I did mention the endorsements that he said he had received. For what it's worth, I've written more about Knuuttila's candidacy since the race started than Flanagan's.
