OMG, I'm the yuppie white girl! Except I'm not a girl. And I don't ride your bus. But my hair is just so and my bag always goes with my coat (which goes with my outfit which works with my belt which matches my shoes), and now I feel white guilt about the tired black woman, because she's probably overworked and underpaid.

At the risk of making a borderline racist comment, what is culturally ingrained in Hispanic people that they always, always run from one form of transport to the other regardless of whether there is any vehicle awaiting them? I see these folks running full tilt through the subway stations all the time, only to arrive 98% of the time at empty subway platforms for no apparent reason that I can fathom. I don't get it.
