When The Mister and I got married in Iowa last month, we kinda fell in the love with the state. Now to just save enough to buy our little country retreat there!

Glad to hear you had a nice, relaxing time with the family, especially after your battles redecorating the bathroom!
BTW, the dog is cute, but it really sounds like you're getting the urge to adopt a four-legged little one of your own.... !

Hey, don't be skeezed out that a total stranger religiously reads your blog, but I do. And just want to encourage you to keep posting, because you are funny and entertaining.
Just so you know I am not a complete freak: runner, Gay Men's Chorus of Washington board member, back row bass and a capella group member, partnered for 12 years, and also gay as a Sunday picnic.
No need to look at MY blog, because as entertaining as you are, I am the opposite.
I wish you well, and happy running!

what a nice looking neighborhood. I'm from Long Island, so it's nice to know sane-looking places still exist.
ps: your niece throws like a girl.

Yes,there is parking at the stores in small and midsized markets, but the men's sections in stores are typically about the size of a thimble. I'm always amazed at the size of men's sections when I visit New York.

Just out of curiosity, how did your sister get around the soy sauce drenching at the Japanese restaurant? And the grill cross contamination? (An) Inquiring Celiacs want to know!
The soy sauce was gluten free, and the meal was nothing but rice and eggs and meat and vegetables.
