Gravatar Your sunglasses story reminds me of my husband, who took my son shopping to get his first real pair of sunglasses recently. They eventually looked everywhere, but first my husband went into a high-end store that sells frames for glasses. My husband objected when the salesman started showing them $150 pairs of sunglasses. So I asked him, "Well, who goes to a glasses store to buy a 12-year-old kid sunglasses?! Just by doing that you gave the guy the right to think you'd spend $150." Anyway, they found some in SportChek that cost a lot less than $150 -- but still more than I would spend. They do look good though.

The hockey puck thing made me laugh. And the mermaid shirt. (At first I had a picture of 'Ariel' in my mind when you said that.)

Happy birthday to your son! (It's my husband's birthday today, July 30.)

Gravatar karen-my son shopped for sunglasses in the bay last summer, found a pair of ray bans for what he thought was $20. funny what a difference a zero can make. he didn't get them after all.
