Rodent, I didn't give this post much thought when I read it, but the other day sitting on the deck drinking a beer and reading a book, at 20:00, got me thinking about this. I must say I love daylight savings time. Siitng out in the sunshine at 21:00 is great, and an extra added attraction is you can fish longer in the evening. Nothing like a nice warm evening, sun setting in the west, wet wading, water up to your waist, last cast of the day, and you hook into a lunker.

Makes sense, except I have some obvious questions.
Why do you only do that half a year?
Plus, if the entire country wants to fish longer in the evening, why don't we go to work earlier in the morning so that we can get off earlier? DST is nothing but the government mandating that we get up earlier for half the year.

Well, it really started for the farmers to be able to have light longer in the evening and not have to get up earlier in the morning. At least I think that was the original idea. Actually we don't get up earlier we get up and hour later, spring ahead, fall back. Why go to work at 6:00 when one can still go at 7:00 and have the daylight longer when one gets home? Hang out with freinds, and family in the sunshine, grilling while it's still light, all kinds of advantages. That is my take anyway.
