Gravatar Hope you're ready to pay $12 for a head of lettuce, $200 for a Motel 6 room, and $1,000,000 to have your next home built. Like it or not, our economy is dependent on undocumented labor.

Gravatar Hi, Lisa. I admit that it is a difficult dilemma, especially from a fiscal standpoint. But I also believe that the economy will stabilize, particularly from the healthcare standpoint. Hospitals won't operate at a loss, resources will not be spent on non-citizens while homeless and sick legal immigrants and citizens do without care, and the cost of healthcare will ultimately go down as operating costs decrease.

Hospitals have to recoup their losses somewhere. When a patient skips out without paying for care, or if the hospital operates on a "fee-for service" basis, the facility must raise the costs for some of its more esoteric services. We end up footing the bill for that.

In a free market economy, if something is too expensive, consumers will not buy it. My opinion is that while the economy may twitch for awhile, eventually it will stabilize due to consumer demand.

Thanks again for posting your thoughts!
