Gravatar You are right to be skeptical of this man John McCain. The bills you mention are all restrictions on the freedoms of Americans and the immigration proposal is a horrendous miscarriage of justice for those that seek citizenship legally by following the rules.

In the last few years we have seen heroes from wars and civilian accomplishment become nothing more than corrupt politicians. Randy (Duke) Cunningham with his pay to play scandal and John Glen with his money laundering scandal that forced him to resign from the Senate to name just a few.

Its one thing to be a war hero but to live the rest of your life with those same ideals that made you a hero is something that is more difficult given the temptations that fame brings.

I hope the republicans don't bring McCain back for another try at the office. I do not agree with his assumptions that we to compromise our beliefs in order to get legislation

Gravatar Jennifer, you have again raised an excellent point! I need to hang out with you more!

There is a truth that the media and the parties cannot seem to get into their thick skulls, and as a result they pound their flawed egocentrism into us day and night. The truth is that people change over time... (Well, except for John Kerry. He's always been an treasonous SOB, and he will always be one, forever and ever amen.)

Glenn, Murtha, Cunningham, and McCain all had stellar service careers. They were all heroes while wearing the uniforms of the U.S. Armed services. But as in the financial world, the past is no guarantee of future performance. And when they got to D.C., well, D.C. got to them.

So military service is not an indicator of character thirty or so years down the road- especially if one has spent much of that time in D.C.

Gravatar Yes - with all due respect, McCain is a most dangerous political clown. Aside from his loose-cannon politics (which usually has the leftist machine full of glee when he incessantly misfires toward the right), the last thing America needs is his poorly controlled anger and lack of judgment. Next time you witness McCain gesticulating stiffly, picture if you dare an amalgam of Uncle Fester and Dr. Strangelove. It's EERIE!

Gravatar Earlier this year the Senator said he'd rather have no freedom of speech and no corruption, than freedom of speech and political corruption.

Sure, let's give this guy the FBI to play with.

Gravatar I think that given the choice between
2 persons for a political election, one must choose the best of the 2.
I believe that is what the American public did in 2000 and in 2004. I thank God, every day, that Al Gore or John F Kerry do not preside over this great country.
But the entire process shows just how important it is to get the right
person nominated in the first place.
I agree with your thoughts, John McCain is not the right person.

Gravatar Jefferson, Chris and Pagar,

Thank you for blessing my humble blog with your thoughts! Even if I post something with which you do not agree, PLEASE tell me so and why. Critical thinkers learn from other critical thinkers. That's the point of this blog.

Please stop by anytime!

Gravatar Can't wait to use yer line sometime soon....."the parasitic opportunism of a hagfish." thax really GREAT!!!
