Thanks for the link. I really liked the video. Although the documentary voiceover was a bit overwrought, it was very informative. I think Juan Maclean just did a long post about whether using a 303 made him 'acid house' not 'techno.'
Yeah clearly very pedantic (although perhaps not intentionally), but I've watched a couple other videos on that site, and they are all quite informative. I'd also like to say that my life was never the same after, around 88, my then 18-year-old cousin gave the 10-year-old me a mixtape of Jam On It (I think it included some Cars, Slick Rick, and probably some Phil Collins too). I then dubbed Jam On It onto it's own tape multiple times back-to-back so that I could listen to it repeatedly. Ah, the romance of it all.
