Gravatar The building looks really disturbing!
Love the pottery! In Oman I have scan souqs or head to barka to see such good pottery!
Nice pics!

Gravatar That is interesting. Were the pottery pieces in Bahrain? It would be a neat study to really dig into the reasons why the local population finds garbage dumping acceptable anywhere basically. I know in Islam, people have a high regard for cleanliness so this is something I would want to know more about.

Gravatar We visited the burial mounds several times while we lived in KSA. Nearby to the pottery there are some mounds that tower 2 storeys high in amongst homes. Some of them have had their sides cut off to enable homes to built right alongside. Its a shame to see such blatant disregard for history that is thousands of years old. The Dilmun civilisation is old, old, old! A while back in the Bahraini newspapers a local member of parliament was seriously putting forward that the whole lot be demolished as any history that pre-dated Islam was not to be preserved under any circumstances. Its a good thing that he wasn't allowed to prevail. Moron!

Gravatar i love them,
i missed where the pottery store is.
nice blog

Gravatar eda quincy- since I'm in two places I should be more clear The pttery store is in A'Ali Bahrain.

Kathryn- I read about that on someons blog about them wanting to destroy them all. Making room for the living, as if there isn't enough land for their high rises, malls upon malls, and resteraunts. I think we can all share.

Anthrogeek- It is in Bahrain, the dumping in Bahrain is not as bad as it is in Saudi.

Gravatar lucky you!
jealous here
