Ohy, this is sad. He left home for the adventure of living and working abroad, training young minds to do important things like obeying traffic laws.

Will do... That is so sad. I would have told her first too. We had a year in high school where it was common place to hear announcements of a death come over the loudspeakers... After the 2nd or 3rd we'd cringe everytime they came on... It was awful and we were a lot older than her.

Yes, very sad, and particularly in light of the posts about poor driving in Bahrain and Saudi. Poor driving, as always, is more than an annoyance, it is a matter of life and death all too often.
I agree, you were right to tell Hannah, so she could process her feelings with you rather than struggle in class with her sadness and her shyness too.
He was obviously well-loved and well-regarded. May he rest in peace.

As Salaam Alaikum, that is sad news. SubhanAllah we do not know when our time will come.
It was a good idea that you decided to tell your daughter about his passing before she went to school so that she would have time to reflect and not to have been totally taken by surprise like that.

I feel sad that of all the ways, he didn't die naturally. Inshallah, may Allah make it easy to explain all of this to your little girl. I'm glad that school at least ended so you'll have plenty of time to prepare her for not seeing him walking the halls.

I remember the few "special" teachers in my life. I know it would have really devestated me to hear one had died, even though I'd become quite blase' about funerals since my parents both came from VERY large families (Grampa on Mom's side had 9 brothers and 6 sisters)...
Here's an extra squeeze for little Hannah {{Hannah}}. How very sad.

she was fine because it just didn't hit her, until she went to school. She came out of school Monday and said "mama I cried" It is impacting school in a major way.

It is probably good that Hannah cried to help deal with her emotions. It sounds as though the school is grieving collectively which might help with the mourning process.
At my nephew's school a 10 year old was killed by a falling tree (a freak accident) while on a school trip to a botanical garden. The school helped with the grieving process for classmates, age mates, and their families by private meetings, assemblies, a newsletter. The other children were made aware as necessary (parents were warned about it with a sealed note home since even the youngest would learn from the playground), and a memorial was erected to the student.
Perhaps an annual award, a commemorative book, or a memorial of some sort could be named for Mr Cameron.
