Give him an extra slap for me, in honour of travel "agents" who don't know there is a 1hr time difference between Casablanca and Paris (no time to change airports-luggage on next flight), 2 hrs difference between Montreal and Halifax (hard to give a conference in both places at once), Monaco and Morocco are not the same country, there is only one of each of them, nor are they satellites of each other, New York-Paris-Martinique is not a direct route...you get the idea. A nice good whack with a definitely past due fish!! Thanks

Why not use something online to book your flights?

Chiara- Not all booking agents are travel agents that is for sure. This guy I swear wins the prize.
Lindsey- price. Also this is the same guy that will be woken up at any time something happens open the office and do our bookings which is a plus..just don't always expect a return flight we are now down to 4750 SR for adult tickets!

Names are more important then ever when flying:
Seems TSA is wanting EXACTLY the same name on the ticket as on the ID.

Atlantic Sturgeon will do but how about a nice big Arctic Char to add geographical insult to injury!
RE: TSA--As of today, even Canadians (your friendly neighbours to the North) need a passport to cross into the US. Gone are the days when "Where were you born?" "Canada" with the proper accent was sufficient.
Also re: names. ANYONE can find themselves on the no fly list, including an Irish Canadian friend with a name like "Jamie Roberts" ie banal, common--saved by his son's credit card, and his own ID. Wouldn't want you all returned to Bahrain/Saudi because "Umar bin Al-MrMan" is the name of an evil terrorist! As for Jihad bin Al-MrMan, well what more can be said! LOL

What a doofus your agent is. He should have all of your names on file if you have booked so many times with him. I was in the travel business for many years and he should have all of your preferences on file right in the computer.
The wet rotten fish is letting him off lightly!!!

Sewmouse- Good choice.. big and ugly is putting it lightly.. that thing is HUGE!
Abu Sinan- Didn't I just read of a young boy who stole his dad's CC taking a flight across country in the US alone?? lol
Chiara- I think most take pitty on me as I am travelling with kids. I can't always explain what they put in their bags (sorry dude in philly airport I had no idea Jihad put the bath foam can in his carry on)
Susie- You act as if common sense can get a visa in Saudi.. it can't lol. Anything that makes the least amount of sense and more work for the guy.. is bound to be the way he does it. It took him four years to remember child seats go hand and hand with child meals. oh and let us not get started on seating.. we have had babies with seat assignments to themselves.. nice

LOL at the babies with the solo seat assignments. They're 1/2 American babies, right? Never too early to set them on the road to individualism!
I'm sure this would go over well with other passengers if they ever were actually seated solo.
Susie--would you be interested in/able to set up a travel business in Saudi--something like "Expat Travel Services", "We make sure your names are spelled right, your babies travel with you, and we have maps!" LOL

Husband's are key in a situation like this. We are not able to get overly confrontational and yell in hijab
It sounds like he just picks flights, takes a look at price, and says "yeah this is a high price, let's go for it!"
Love the wet, rotten fish part...

Chiara- LOL I could see it now.. drop off Umar at the seat assignment in the rear of the plane.. "excuse me mind keeping an eye on him while he's back here??" to the one seated next to him.
ohhhh maybe I could get my class bumped and go first class while the kids are in coach.. really travel the right way.
I think Susie could make some nice dollars here specializing in Western expat travel. There have been a few here and there in the EP and I know many that prefered the lady that was their agent over all others.
Lisa- I didn't get the memo I'm not supposed to yell. Think I will ignore it if it comes by my desk

LOL Oh definitely, do buy your own ticket first class and leave the others in coach--it will build character (or test the character of the other passengers). This could be cost effective if you have Umar fly a special "on the lap of someone else" fare! That should keep the girls and boys in school and away from early marriages and children. Not that Umar isn't adorable, but well you know how placid babies are on long flights--NOT! LOL

Btw, I love the mental pic I have of you chasing him around w/ a wet rotten fish lol.

Laughing my head off . No one here gets it that I am Not using my fathers name for my middle name ,or the fact that my actual middle name starts with a G and is unpronounceable to the average Arab ! LOL ! And at least you get to use specials there , here none of the airlines give us any specials . We travel at full cost all the time , no exceptions , sigh !
