LOL I got to know several Saudi guys when they were here & saw them doing all sorts of stuff for themselves. One was one of the best cooks I've ever met... but told me that he's not allowed to even grab an apple for himself at home.. (?????)

I try to get my son to do things around the house and he will help MashaAllah but if my Emirati husband sees it he will put a stop to it saying, "that's a woman's job let his sister do that" Huh?

Also one time when we were living in the states i asked my husband to put the clothes in the dryer. I came home from work later on and went to take the clothes out of the dryer and the clothes were still wet. I asked my husband why he didn't turn the dryer on and he replied, "you didn't say anything about turning the dryer on!" LOL but not funny back then.

You see the toy in the background, the one that can disassemble into a treehouse for Pooh and friends? I still have it since you gave it to me before you left NOLA. Actually, my mom and my son were cleaning the garage today and that treehouse is one of the toys that my kids still play with and wanted to keep.

Mary Ann- Mr. Man would never think of saying anything like that. He tends to have a habit now of not picking up after himself to the point of being absolutely lazy. But there is hired help here that will get him anything he asks for. But there are times it annoys me and I forbid them from doing things.. he thinks it is funny but I'm not joking. In the US he helps out more even if he doesn't do it my way
