ummm.... does the world really NEED a garage rock version of The Darkness?
a) The whole album didn't "leak"
b) The whole album doesn't sound like this
c) I hear a lot of people talking like A&R people at record labels here... if they did the same thing every time, they'd be accused of sounding exactly the same. They do something different and it gets compared to everything else they did.
These poor kids can't win for losing.

INSANELY wicked song. Coming from a long time stripes fan, it's extremely good. Nice to see them further themselves as a band while saying AWESOME
I love the white stripes...the new sound does sound a lot like electric six, it's a completely new move for the stripes..it kicks ass.

RAWK! It's still Jack's guitar and Meg banging away behind him...still the truth and the truth will set you free.
Death From Above 1979 has already done this... and did it far better. I'd be ballsy enough to guess that Jack White ran his guitar through an analog synth to get the effect on his guitar... which is exactly how DFA1979 gets that wonderful tone out of their basslines.
This is pitifully bad, and devoid of any kind of imagination whatsoever. When I heard the opening notes of 'Seven Nation Army' I knew could how incredible the entire song would be.
'Blue Orchid' is just an Electric Six record. Same bland riff and lifeless lyrics.
Needs more cowbell.

It could well be. It's hard to discern, but yes it could be "white" instead of "wild".

This song is defiantly about Jack White (White Orchid) splitting up with Mrs. Bridget Jones Diary and becoming Jack Blue (Jack Sad), but I hope for the rest of the album he become Jack Kick Ass.

It harkens back to the time Jack spent with The Go the MC5 influenced group he did one record and some touring with. This is one case of a White Stripes in need of some bass. I'm diggin it...

I went into a record shop on thursday and the dude was playing the promo and i stopped at the door and made an audible gasp. My immpeccable timing was shadowed by my embarrassment. I still sang along and scared people out of the shop.

It may not be a next "7 nation army" like some say. It's just different but that doesn't mean it sucks. There should be more bands daring to take a step in another direction, maybe thisway they can discover a new sound.

Evidence of the time Jack's been spending with Beck maybe? It sounds like he got Prince to do the vocals, which is reminiscent of Midnite Vultures.
It's....weird. But the Stripes don't get by on just being the same thing album after album. They do whatever the hell they want.
And don't tell me you liked Elephant or De Stijl or the others all the way through the first time. I thought Elephant was kinda bland until the second or third spin. Give it time.
