Hey, how about the opposition developing a counter movement--can you imagine hip, young and cool people developing a cult of personality/hipness around the likes of Pinochet?
I can see the young Primera Justicas now, bedecked in their Pinochet tee-shirts. LOL That is....their "Chet tee shirts"
They are just the folks to make heartless capitalism and super-exploitation cool.
You know it really burns these mall-rats up to see Chavez developing a deep cache in the region.
After all--class domination, imperialism, and support for US oil wars/torture is such a MF'n drag.
It must be a real bummer to be a promoter of social inequality and pathological capitalism.
History tends to point up oppressors like Bush and Pinochet in a bad light.

People were traveling for days to go see him speak and they were not disappointed. If i remember correctly the old guy spoke for 6 hours straight giving the late comers a chance to here his last words. There were Chileans crying and oligarch wives clapping.
Good to see that someone worthy is now carrying the torch that will shine the path to make future non Venezuelans cry, if for just speaking the truth.

Great idea, Jim R.--I really think that with the right marketing that right-wing deathsquads and capitalism can be 'cool' again in the region--that is if MCM and Bush get their way.
I am really impressed with this blog--the opposition blogs that I have been exposed to are looney tunes.
What is shocking is how these people worship Bush.

The english opposition bloggers serve a purpose, to validate the right wing belief of US freepers and the like, notice the way they attack Carter, how they wonder where is the Pinochet criollo (purged thankfully) how they defend Bush and welcome the anti-Castro extremists.
If their goal was to help change the country they would write in spanish, as it stands they balance goverment propaganda with their own propaganda.
I won't call them traitors or anything like that, in their own way they think what they do is right for the country, but the path to hell is paved with good intentions.
Yep the English language opp site are pretty radical. They aren't even representative of the opposition as a whole. Thats why I don't pay them that much mind.
If the opp follows their course instead of people like Petkoff and even Blyde the road will be clear for Chavez.
