Gravatar OW--this report is pure fabrication.

This can't have been--because Ven. was a democracy in those days, before the Chav.

Please take this post down or I will tell on you for denigrating the good name of the Ven. oligarchy.

Gravatar Actually, there was a book written in 1994 about Venezuela entitled: "Democracy for the Privileged - Crisis and Transition in Venezuela"

Yeah, democracy for those who owned banks. That pretty much sums it up. So go ahead tell on me. Tell everyone in Venezuela I said the bankers under the Fourth Republic were scum. Then I'll even be more popular than Chavez LOL

Gravatar you're confusing thor father and thor son...The father, who wrote this article, lives in Miami, not Philadelphia...Also, specifically, what acts of alleged corruption are you referring to? Thor HAlvorssen was not implicated in any acts of corruption that I am aware of, and I have thoroughly researched the events he alludes to here. More to the point, I have a forensic accountant's audit of bank accounts in New York, plus a box full of Banco Latino documents, that prove beyond any doubt whatsoever that Banco Latino's president and board of directors were among a dozen banks int he early 90s that laundered billions of dollars in the US via Orlando Castro. Get your facts straight, amigo, before you allege that Thor Halvorssen is corrupt. He isn't a saint. None of us are. But your claim re his alleged corruption is bull manure and suggests 1. you are biased or 2. simply ignorant

Gravatar jf:

point taken. I must have read something at the time that made me write that - but I dind't link to it and don't remember it. So if I were to re-write this now I wouldn't write that he was "implicated" in corruption. And I never knew if he was actually guilty.
