Gravatar It a very good thing that we don't own a TV these days... I use to enjoy watching soccer, specially during the World Cup, but we me being half Argentinian / half French, and hubby Brazilian (and Italian)!!! Our home would be chaotic (too many flags / not knowing which team to cheer for)... or maybe not.

(D is not patriotic at all)

Gravatar luckily, we don't have this problem - my native country didn't qualify for the World Cup at all whenever my hubby installs in front of the TV ta watch a match, I somehow ironically start humming Allez les Bleus...

Gravatar Well of course it's not the sort of thing that will break a marriage up - as long as he is a good loser.

Gravatar I wish I'd gone to a Frog-friendly part of London for the 1998 final ... my French mate, her boyfriend and I togged up in berets, stripy T-shirts etc and walked into a sports bar in Northampton to face ... about 200 Brazil supporters. They all laughed like drains. They weren't laughing by half time. When the final whistle blew they were glaring at us, so we did a discreet little "yaaaa ...." and left quietly. My friend couldn't understand why they weren't supporting France, "I mean, we're closer than Brazil!" I had to explain to her that it was an old, old story.
I just wonder who they'll support if it's a France-Germany final?
