Amazing that this is the focus of discussion at 23rd and Lincoln when oil prices have now far surpassed 1980 levels. Subprime implosion, food prices raging, oil on an ever upward climb, and this is what "lawmakers" want to spend their time on. Of course they do, because the reality of the energy iceberg straight ahead is too frightening to pay attention to.
I'm guessing you don't have ConocoPhillips stock...
Actually Anonymous, that's an asinine assertion. It's a fair bet that anyone with a 401K has some oil stock. So what's your point? I also fill my car tank up with gas - and get this, I know it's difficult, but I have to pay for it. It doesn't have anything to do with the oil companies anyway. It isn't their fault, and they can't do anything about it. Scapegoating oil execs is nonsense. But being flippant about it is nonsense too.
