The following poll is on Modernpatriot.com
Take the Poll

Answers Votes Percent
1. Jerry Buchanan 19 19%
2. Tom Daxon 19 19%
3. Gary Jones 50 50%

But the only poll posted shows Buchanan up. How convenient

Yes, obviously data from a phone survey fielded to all delegates is going to be a lot more newsworthy than a web survey on some obscure website.

Oh no, I better question the legitimacy of the lottery to get some attention.
If Gary and Jerry have an understanding that they both think the other is better than Daxon, we will have a new chairman. However, who gets Daxon's support if he is booted on the first ballot?

I'm certain it took your vote. When you pressed a touch tone response the call hung up. That's normal and happened to every respondent.

How nice that Republicans would elect someone as their LEADER who gave gave monetary contributions to JAY PAUL GUMM and JOHNNIE CRUTCHFIELD - two of the worst obstructionist DemoRats in the Senate!!! Ask Jerry how much he's contributed to REPUBLICANS through the years - it's LESS than he gave those two TOGETHER!!! Sad! Really sad!!! I'll be voting for GARY JONES.

The real question is who will be the unfortunate victim LOSING VOTES as a result of Daxon's endorsement??
At this point the support of Hilary and Obama could be less damaging than that of Daxon...at least they are aware that 25 years have passed since 1982.

Jesus you guys are just plain mean. Give it up to the three guys for even wanting to lead a pack of back-biting, nasty folks who claim to be on the same team. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Children are more cordial than the lot of you.

Jerry is the only candidate who can restore dignity and organization to the state party. It is time the Party is run as a business and Jerry is the only man with experience running a successful enterprise. Jones failed! Daxon was worse!! Buchanan is OUR ONLY HOPE!!!

I do not agree, ConcernedActivist. I have seen the list of Democrats Buchanan contributed to. Albeit minimual and in the area where he grew up, I have to question if he would recruit Republicans in that area, or any area for that matter. I was impressed with his vision plan mail out, until I learned it is a simple rewrite of the 72 HOUR PLAN from 2002 and 2004. And through research realized much of the success he has claimed credit for in his mere 2 years was due to the efforts of others.
I have looked beyond the State Chair race to the '08 elections when 4 Republicans and only 1 Democrat will term limit out of the State Senate. 10 Republicans and 9 Democrats will stand for re election. On the House side, 6 Democrats and only 1 Republican will term limit out.
I do not believe Daxon or Buchanan can recruit candidates and motivate the base the way Gary Jones can.
