give me a break guys. you think the powers that be in cleveland county would have ever let kyle do anything anyway? it's a good old boy network that makes stipe/edmondson/mcmahan/roth/meachem/et al look like the vienna boys choir. they like to keep things small and inept in cleveland county. i admire kyle for just sticking it out

I will buy that Anony...I was just taking off on the post before with a little public servant humor...perhaps a little issue talk might help.

I would be interested in how the powers that be restrain someone from doing things.

The Cleveland County Republican Party is beyond dysfunctional, ruled by cowards with small minds and deep pockets who live in fear of change because that would mean they lose control.
2 Examples:
1.These cowards instead of running and becoming elected at a grassroots level verbally harassed those elected AND actively undermine the county party as a whole (cancelling reservations once mtg plans were made public, etc).
2. "The Cleveland County Republican Club". The name itself is deceptive.
The club is not OFFICIALLY affliated with the State Party NOR files ethics reports. The Club collects money and then pays for ads publishing the names of REPUB candidates with photos and bios in the Norman Transcript under the AD headline of "scheduled speaker".
Theres a paper trail.
Check for yourself.
Check the Ethics Commission.
Check the Norman Transcript Archives.
AND
Check the Ethics Reports of the Candidates that have been listed in the paper.
Trust but verify.
ANYTIME a candidate BENEFITS from ANYTHING paid-it needs to be reported-ITS A CONTRIBUTION.
Its just that simple.
Another example of Republicans being legal but sadly less than ethical.

Who cares about the county stuff? What is different about Loveless versus the standard candidate?
Seems nice enough. Seems smart enough. We will see if he has enough to beat the crowded field.

LTC Russell said recently that he is also running for this seat.
Good luck.

GB says he seems smart enough...evidently you haven't read any of his columns. This guy treats grammar the way Brad Henry treats extemporaneous speaking.
oh and LTC Russell isnt running - he evidently thinks the Gov's office looks attractive in 2010. A great patriot, not so tactically smart politically.
