For those who say Raye Dawn should have known about the abuse, I just have to say that the "documented" nine months of abuse that have been reported on so much were actually two instances other than the day Kelsey died. The only one "documenting" for nine months was Kathie Briggs.
Jan '05 - The bruises to Kelsey's butt are the first injuries DHS said were abuse. After Kathie and Lance Briggs had Kelsey for four hours they found the bruises and took Kelsey to the ER. Raye Dawn didn't see the bruises until Kelsey was returned to her a couple of days later and they were almost gone.
Then Kathie Briggs had custody of Kelsey, and Raye Dawn only got her for visitation.
April '05 - Raye Dawn's sister-in-law took Kelsey to the zoo and Kelsey sprained her ankle. Raye Dawn took Kelsey to the doctor right away and the doctor said it was sprained. Kelsey was walking fine. Raye Dawn dropped Kelsey off at Kathie Briggs' home after her visitation where Kelsey broke both legs. Kathie didn't take Kelsey to the doctor. When Raye Dawn picked Kelsey up 4 or 5 days later Kelsey couldn't walk at all.
May 2 '05 - DHS took Kelsey from Kathie Briggs because after Kelsey's legs were broken and Kathie had her casts removed, Kathie became a prime suspect for the abuse. Gayla (the maternal grandmother) then got custody of Kelsey and Kelsey looked bad. She had lost a lot of weight and her hair had fallen out in a baseball sized chunk in the back of her head. Gayla had to give Kelsey Ensure to try to get her weight back up.
June '05 - Raye Dawn had done everything necessary to get Kelsey back.
Aug '05 - Kelsey was in a bad car accident when Kelsey, Raye Dawn and her new husband (Mike Porter) were hit by a drunk driver. Kelsey had bruises on her from the accident and began having what they thought were seizures and she lost her appetite. (Pictures of Kelsey in the swing with the bruised face are right after the accident.)
Oct '05 - Kelsey was home alone with her step-father when she was murdered and (possibly) sexually assaulted. Mike had told Raye Dawn to go pick up HIS daughter from school while he waited for a friend to come pick up tires. He called Gayla (Raye Dawn's mom) a few minutes later and said Kelsey wasn't responding. Gayla told him to call the ambulance. He was standing in the yard holding Kelsey 12 minutes later when Gayla arrived. Gayla beat the ambulance there and Mike had three vehicles there with keys in them to drive to the hospital but he didn't.
What does this sound like to you?? Does it sound like there were so many injuries that Raye Dawn ignored? The videos put out by the paternal family to show abuse show the same things over and over again. Kathie took dozens of pictures of every bump on Kelsey and wanted to put her on Ritilin because Kelsey was "too active." In my opinion, Raye Dawn is the only one who fought for Kelsey. All I'm saying is that a lot of guys seem to be drooling after Raye Dawn's tail, and have had their judgement seriously clouded. Every male who has defended her so far has had some sort of connection to her. The fact of the matter is, the videos DON'T show the same bruises and bumps over and over. They show a little girl who progressively had the life beat out of her. Each video is a little worse than the last. Take a look without the rose-colored Raye Dawn-Bans on.
Give me a break Wishing Well! I'm not a man! The majority of those supporting Raye Dawn aren't men! We're not jealous of her either (like a lot of those leaving comments on here). We don't know how long Mike Porter abused Kelsey. It could have started when he met Raye Dawn or it could have started the day she died. Nobody knows! The "abuse" pictures all have legitiment explanations and the only time I see where she deteriorated was after Kathie Briggs had custody of her. Five agencies saw her on a regular basis as well as doctors and family and the abuse wasn't apparent to them either. The only reason Kathie had her camera out when Kelsey had been in the car accident and her face was bruised is because she failed miserably at her attempt to steal Kelsey from Raye Dawn and she was gearing up for Lance's fight when he returned from "Iraq" via the way of rehab. If they thought Kelsey was dying, 1. They would have taken her to the hospital 2. They wouldn't have put her in a swing 3. They would have shown up in court on September 8th. Kelsey cried when she got in her mom's car that day and said they had taken her sucker away. Look at the pictures. She was pouting because Kathie wanted her to look as pathetic as possible. The one who's guilty of abusing Kelsey and the system is Kathie Briggs. She drug that child through an emotional roller coaster and paved the way for Mike Porter to slip in with his nasty, perv self.
OK, so let's assume for a second that you're right about Michael. What kind of a mother gives a perv access to her kid? You can't tell me there weren't indications he was a monster. You can't tell me he was Joel Osteen in public and Michael Jackson behind closed doors.
Sexual abuse occurs behind closed doors. Many women are sexually assaulted for YEARS with nobody knowing. Mike Porter only lived with Raye Dawn and Kelsey for four months. Raye Dawn had been through HELL trying to get her daughter back. She had agencies in her home almost daily. She thought she was protecting Kelsey by keeping her from the Briggs. Where, in that short amount of time, was she supposed to really get to know the man she married and watch his behavior? Nobody at the custody hearings ever suspected him. He was said to be a perfect father and a good man. Why would she be worried that he would hurt her daughter? The only abuse she had ever been around was outward, violent abuse from Lance. She had no clue that there was abuse that happened silently. If you've not been around it, you have no idea what to look for.
So she married a man without getting to know him, except for in the biblical sense. Oh boy, Raye Dawn's quite an example for young women everywhere, ain't she?

Terry, there is some very interesting information online about Ms. Ortiz aka Truthseeker. There is also information online about her income. And yes, her pockets, along with a few others are about to be not so deep.
As for her being the editor of Key's book, if she in fact did not write it herself, explains alot in how the book was presented. I read online where she stated she is redoing the book...she blames the poor reviews of the book, on her having pneumonia at the time. LOL The book speaks for itself as to how good the "author" is, and apparently the "editor".
