The major lakes in Ohio are man made...there are some natural ones, albeit small. I live on Grand Lake{10 miles x 3 miles} at one time the largest man made lake in the world...{Lake Mead is now}...hand dug in 1837-1839 for a feeder for the Miami-Erie Canal.

I guess prices for land might be a bit steep over there.

Really. What were they trying to find, or where they trying to bury something.

I would argue a bit about that deep hole in Texas...I have worked on some drilling rigs that put down a hole over 16,000 feet...and that was in Oklahoma. I have read of some 20,000 ft stuff in other places..the Russians were using air bits to put down some extremely deep holes some years back...
