Amazing creatures, the birdies. They can FLY!!! Really, that's enuff.

And of course, the kitties. They can PUSSY-FOOT AROUND!!! And stuff.

While I am not myself whatchyacall a big "animal person," I would prefer to live on a planet with lots of them. It would be terribly lonely if it were just us, dontchyathink?

And imagine the guilt, if we were even partially responsible for wiping them out. Which, of course, we are. Hundreds of species, entire species, mind you, are dying as we speak. It's the greatest mass extinction since, well, the last one.

But the last one was caused by a humongous meteor, and/ or a Hella volcanic eruption, or both. (Oh, and a sorta nukul'r winter, maybe.) You know, sorta natural causes, if not very common causes, thank Gawd, or there'd be no us.

But now there is us. Polluting the earth, air and water. Heating up the whole freaking planet. And basically not giving a sh*t. But even the Fundies say Gawd put us in charge. Did he intend us to be like guards in a concentration camp, exterminating everybody? I don't remember that part of the Bible, do you?

Anyways, Gawd bless Ms. OWL for reminding us that We Are Not Alone. (Yet...) And that's a good thing.

Meow on, and have a nice day.

Gravatar Friday scatblogging this week (the first one) is Friday horseblogging with Scat Daddy.

Friday scatblogging this week (the second one) is the SCAT bus full of senior citizens. Don’t laugh; it’s a serious issue they’re facing.

Gravatar I often purr my humans awake, and then purr us all back to sleep. Gorgeous pictures.

Gravatar Feather is certainly extending her fluffiness, at least that which isn't shedding this time of year.

I love watching the cardinals hoping around in the brush. They are the splash of color in our local bird life which is dominated by crackles, mocking birds, blue jays, and doves, inland, and gulls and terns on the coast.

Gravatar Grey Feather looks to be doing her isocatricks exercises, while that Cardinal is giving her the bird.

Gravatar Yep, spring is definitely here. Shayna was doing her raisin in the sun act today, only moving to bark at the squirrels. Happy weekend, OWL! Scratches to the brood.

Gravatar So many fun things to look at. That red cardinal is so pretty!

Gravatar cosanostradamus - You had fun writing those first two sentences, didn't you? I know I would have! There's a lot of guilt to go around for the wiping out of species, but I think the main culprits feel little guilt. As humans, we only think about making sure we have plenty of housing, rental properties, foods, etc., that we can get rich off of. That's the thing that counts in this great big world. Money overrules guilt.

SocraticGadfly - Thanks for letting me know. I haven't had a chance to get over there.

quasi - My babies are like you. Except the one that lays next to my head purrs very little.

Bryan - She looks like a huge cat in that picture because she's so long. She talks to the cardinal and he talks back. He had three cats as an audience, last evening. I'm like you. I love that splash of color. It's so seldom I get a good shot of them.

mandt - That's exactly what was happening. Well, I think the bird might have been scolding, too

Fixer - And I'm so glad of that! But, it's already May. Goodness, the days and months just fly by. I'm thinking Shayna's rasin in the sun act might be the act to copy! Scratches have been given. They all thank you

Yaffa & Sebastian - Thank you. That red cardinal has been hanging around the deck for the past week. He seems to really get a kick out of sitting on the deck, or the tree limb, and chirp at the cats. Of course, they listen and watch, enthralled.
