Perhaps saying "I don't follow that line of thinking" was the wrong phrasing. What I meant was I don't observe in that way, but the argument makes sense to me.

To tell you the truth, I think its a lot of bunk as well, but, I will admit to being taken by this sort of thinking. I think it has to do with my thinking about death to much, that inside, somewhere, I just tell myself "just in case, I better NOT go to the beach"
Interesting. I'd never heard that argument about the 9 days/ 3 weeks. Just that you shouldn't have much fun because you are supposed to be mourning.
