In case anyone is reading, the Dr. Isaiah Luzzatto of Padua mentioned in the first paragraph is Shadal's son. He was therefore a great-great-nephew of the Ramchal. (Shadal's great-grandfather was the Ramchal's brother Benedetto (Baruch) Luzzatto.)

Dr. Isaiah Luzzatto is responsible for much of the posthumous publications of Shadal, including the Iggerot. He was also friends with Rabbi Sabato Morais; the latter promoted his father's teachings and writings and sold his books here in the US, and the former helped him out with such inquiries from Padua. In a few days I plan on posting some pictures of very old Italian shofars which Isaiah Luzzatto obtained for Cyrus Adler.

Rabbi Marco Tedeschi was the rabbi of Trieste in the latter part of the 19th century, and he wrote many works, and obviously had such connections that enabled him to land these Italiabn rules of the Ramchal's Zohar Society (don't forget, he was all of 19 years old at the time!).

Gravatar The "poem" is not exactly simply a poem. It is a chapter of a new sefer tehilim which the Ramchal wrote in the style of the biblical tehilim. The vast majority of the 150 chapters he wrote were lost with the cherem.

I think you are confusing the Ramchal's Chevraya Kadisha with the Volozhin Yeshiva. The purpose of the Chevraya Kadisha was cosmic mystical tikkunim, not the sustunance of the world.

The earliest translation into Hebrew that I am aware of was Ginzburg's רבי משה חיים לוצטו ובני דורו which was published in 1923 so it is certainly a posibility that the Piaseczner Rebbe knew of it.
