I can see who visits my blog, and the web site they entered my blog from using http://www.sitemeter.com/ . If they came from a search engine, like Google, then I can see what search terms they were using.

That's pretty scary. What do you mean you know "who" is visiting your site? Like, you know their names? I thought this was all anonymous.

No, I don't know their name. But I can see their IP. If you're posting in Belgium, I'll probably know it, should I care to check. If you're sitting in your office in the FBI building in Washington, I'll probably know it, too, should I care to check - although their are ways to disguise yourself.
And I won't know your name, gender, race, age, creed, etc.
Also, I don't have a permanent record of who browses, although I do have a permanent record (sort of) of who comments - but all I have is the IP address.
PS True anonymity on the internet is basically a myth. Sure, sometimes it would take a subpoena to uncover someone's identity online, but true, absolute anonymity? Doesn't exist.

Man, that's scary. So every computer has the same IP address always? (Apologies if this is aleph-bais). So if a guy posts one day as Berel, the next as Shmerel, and the next as Carol, you can see that they are all really the same guy? Can the commenters see this too?
You said one can disguise himself. How do you do this?
Good point about the lack of anonymity. Mussar Haskel.
PS - is your name really Mississippi Fred Mcdowell?

Some computers will always have the same ip address and some will change. Google "static ip vs. dynamic ip". So the answer to question one is, Usually. Can the commenters see it? No, only if they have MFM's haloscan password.
disguise? google "ip spoofing".
No, his name is not MFM. Read his bio.
