Truth be told, I was really expecting this race to be on the same level as SG marathon. What a shame. What a crying shame.
Kak Haza - everyone joined because of SC's name and it being associated with good marathon/run. People were expecting top notch quality finisher T shirt like in SCSM but ended up with a quality poorer than Uncle Chan's race.
XXXL on a M size fler still looked too out of place.
Were you there when the organiser told the finisher that "if the t is too big, frame it up".
Or were u there when they say "sorry no more medal, you ran too slow"?
very well written ... bro this is Malaysia la... they have actually budget that amount of water already... but sure la got some leakages some where... father thirsty take 1 bottle, mother hot take 1 bottle, and so on and so forth... so no more water ma...
pls don't boycott.. register aje.. if the f-up next year, kita tunjuk perasaan kat starting line..
we go in front of the Kenyans before the starting gun and ask organizer publicly, in front of media and VVIP on why did they screw up the registration (assuming the registration is still screwed up last year)..
if they f-up the water stations, we go to VIP tent and start asking questions to the big shots..
asked the questions, make some noise, embarrass some VVIPs and THEN.. we can see some actions taken!
but to have our voices heard, we must be legitimate participants!
I'm gonna do that, if they f-up next year! I'll be IN THEIR FACE!
It's KL Marathon. It's our marathon! we've been taking part for the part 4-5 years! It's ours, lets make sure that the organizers bring it to OUR STANDARDS!

The water was left at Padang Merbuk parking lot under a couple of tents. Looking at the amount of crates I am sure they are part of the 50,000L. Semua penat pouring drinks, can't send them to the stations.
Let's ransack the VIP tent next year if not enuff water! I'll take pictures of all the closed water/aid stations along the route and put up on the blog or e-mail to reporter. Errrr.... that means i have to run slower next year? :P

It's a pity when an awaited race like this, a big name like this, can screw up big time. I am grateful that I didn't run this time. I was lack of training, and I am so unsure about myself. But then air habis? That is a serious problem.
I do hope that they rectify their problems before even dare to do a next race here in Malaysia. Shame on them.
As a rookie runner, I felt mad having to queue for 2.5hours (in empty stomach) under the gigantic hot sun and yet being told my bib is NOT AVAILABLE. I have to wait for phonecall or sms. The whole blardee Friday was spoilted. My mind was thoroughly harassed whether I have a chance to lose my 'virginity'. Only after midnite and after several sms/call harassment to Rainer Beiman - Otakgone. The sms was replied....
I went there on Saturday to collect my replacement bib....No APOLOGY given and yet they complained to us they have to worked till midnite to sort out the problem.
In my mind, it aint my farking problem. You are the Organiser. You do your part and stop complaining having to work till midnte.
Having system down due to rain/power failure is UNFORGIVEABLE. It's as good as Samy Vellu said MRR2 31 columns are cracking due to our weather...humid, hot and rain. In which farking days in Malaysia, we are not experiencing the same weather.....hujan, panas serta lembab. Sikarang OtakGone yang lembab.
My work is related to SAFETY. Seeing a runner crossed Istana/Mahameru from right lane to far left to answer nature call sent cold eerie sensation to my spine. Having read OtakGone press statement via PR kompeni, it seems they are pretty spineless.
Without enough water and poor traffic control, arent these work of a rookier.....What have they learn from the 4 decades of history!!!! My wifey will make sure my kids water bottles are filled with H2O before they cabutted for school. Arent that blardee common sense or we really need to go for refreshman course i.e. Introduction To Race Management 101 (like what SK mentioned)......

Rashid - i was lucky as i ran 10km with Wifey and sis. Else, i would had been in hospital due to dehydration. I was waiting at the finishing line the whole day, and that too, i was thirsty..imagine those that ran...
Teng - I even make sure my tumbler is filled when i go to work. I brought 3 liters of water in my camelbak, and it finishes...and i wasn't even running...imagine if someone were...3 liter mana cukup!
again...been said over and over in that FB page that i am now banned...we are barking like some mad dog and no one is listening.
Thank God my office has this water dispensing machines........

SCKLM wasn't in my calendar for this year anyway, but if like this, looks like i won't dare to reg next year.

Aini - to add salt, those that did finish the whole 42...they don't have time recorded as the timing chip ppl all left...Ppl coming in after Senn all no timing...ada start time sahaja.
I don't think organiser even know how many started that morning...let alone know how many made it back safe.
Stupe, yes, Padang Merbuk (rugby field) near Bank Negara. Not sure what it's doing there but I saw on FB post that later they were distributing among themselves the left-over, not sure if runners were given though.

Anon - wifey finished the 10km in 90minutes on no training. If you train, you can do a sub 75minutes wet wet water. Thanks for dropping by.

I have been reading all your comments and complaints about the SCKLM. My team members and I have kept quiet because it is more professional to do so since we are from Twenty First Century Sports.
We were the ones who first presented to the bank about a possible SCKLM. We did that presentation in early Jan 2008.We even travel and took part in the SCSM and SC Mumbai marathon in 2008 to study and bring back great ideas to be introduced to the KL marathon. Things were looking great as there was to be a collaboration between us and other players.
Then we were put aside to be replaced by the international company.
As you may be aware even a local state association was also side stepped. This association was the key player to organize it for the last 17 years. Yes, there were shortcomings but not to the extend that I am reading here.
I am sad that sports in Malaysia has taken a step back. It is even more sad that, you, the very spine of sports in this country have been disappointed.
If anyone remembers the Putrajaya marathon in 2007 or the RMAF half marathon, Twenty First Century Sports was the one who organized it.
I wonder what your feelings are about those marathons?
Anand - It was a pleasure working with 21st in Xterra. I can't deny that! So, yes, we might have BIG names, but do the BIG names have BIG hearts, and in return, BIG balls?

Does it mean that SCBee dig their own grave by appointing an international company that caused death in Beijing? And yet they are trying to send some the runner to God...
Teng - the news on that has since been removed and CAAA was held responsible. So, if the (unverified) news about one runner being hit by a car during last sunday run was true...then, i believe, MAAU will be responsible.
I also meant that my team members had great fun being part of Xterra.
About us having everything big.. it is in the eyes of the beholder. excuse the punt.
Anand - DONE with SIEMENS! See your crew on race day - i won't be running, but supporting, again!

Wow. That is so bad.
Boycott would definitely kill this Sport unless the runners set up their own Marathon and so on. However, if this F-Up again next year, chances are, everyone would be just walking hand in hand, side by side from start to the finish line, using the shortest route possible. Heh
Mr. E - Problem are, there is not enough race in the country to choose from, esp the major ones.
