I'd say I put in about 90 minutes on this one, and was left with G-OSZ, I-N-, and LAN- : three names of people I had never heard of. I guessed correctly on LANA, but fell for IONA and GOOSZ. Had to resort to Google at long last to resolve that one crosser. Too bad after resisting for so long. Hardest puzzle for me in a very long time.

Since I finished the puzzle with IONA and GOOSZ and I don't care about missing something I don't know and don't have bandwith to learn, I declare IONA and GOOSZ a correct variant.
