I didn't get to personally congratulate you after the awards ceremony, but you were equal to the week's assorted challenges, from the concerted differences between [specific puzzle entries redacted]. A lot of us had our best years in awhile, and those that particularly didn't are good about it.

When I left I told Will Shortz that this is the most fun I have all year, the Stamford gig. And for me, this year was the most fun of all.

[Bob, I'm avoiding any spoilers of specifics about the puzzles—I hope everyone who's interested in crosswords but didn't attend Stamford will send away for the puzzles and do the solve-at-home option.]
