| You don't have to be a paid-up member of Cruciverb.com to get the LA Times in AcrossLite; you just have to register at the site.
If I have this right, the paid membership gives you access to the crossword clue database and Compiler-friendly word list(s). I gotta pay up one of these days and get back into that.
Quintessential word searches -- I love 'em. In general, word searches are deathly dull, but there's something about playing categories ...

There, you can sign up to receive his weekly puzzle by email - does life get any better than free puzzles by email? Past puzzles are also available there, although the Puzzle Pointers page is easier to use.

| I noticed that Puzzle Pointers recently expanded to include the Thursday Jonesin' puzzles as pdfs. I haven't tried them much yet, but they seem worthwhile.
Presumably Wordplay has aroused interest in ACPT; for those who aim towards ACPT, what would you recommend as practice for doing puzzles on paper from among these choices?

Eric, I've been getting Ben Tausig's puzzles since before they made it to Puzzle Pointers. It is indeed handy to get the puzzle early!
Tom, are you asking advice for yourself or for the faceless masses? 'Cause I could give you advice, but I'm growing leery of coaching brand-new potential contenders at Stamford!

| Hi! I love your blog! It is one of the best things on the Internet... I was wondering if you or anyone else knows what happened to the NY Times crossword in Tuesday's paper (1/20)? It was supposed to be on C7 but was nowhere to be found. Apparently,from what I have determined by talking to the Times, other people are having the same problem as well.
