Thanks, Joon! Young whippersnapper thinks a 25th reunion is something to talk about in shameful *cough cough* fashion? Pfft. Boy, you will see someday. That time will be upon you before you know it. |
Amy, there's always one pretty face which seems never to grow older! Work of art or something just frozen in time -- WEBPAGEANT wannabee? |
Joon missed basement playing on "base ten". And she's a computer person? |
er... "base tenant" playing on "base ten". don't know where "basement" came from - i live in a condo and don't have one! |
Is anyone else having trouble logging into cruciverb.com? Is there another site to get the Sunday crosswords? Thanks |
Same problem Bill. I went to my 25th reunion **cough** 5 years ago** and had the same reaction about a few timeless souls. |
donna s. levin constructed a terrific 15x15 puzzle with a theme similar to mr. harris's for crossynergy (10/30/09). it's still available and it's called "picnic invasion." given the additional construction coup and the overall quality of the fill, it's "better bang for buck." imoo... |
oh -- donna's puzzle isn't the one i was thinking of re: "construction coup" -- but it remains the peppier solve still. |

Angela, |

In fact, at least one expert says that either 'home in on' or 'hone in on' is okay. Personally, I'd say 'home in on', but they're about equally common. |
I missed my WHEEZE 50TH WHEEZE college reunion 3 years ago because I was worried that everyone I knew would be gone, er, deceased,er, dead. |
re: BG theme, it's a little tighter than that. sure, all the phrases are made up, and contain colors, but they're also all buildings or rooms, to go with the interior design/decor theme. on the other hand, i couldn't finish this puzzle. would you believe that my downfall was that i did not know {Gold" in Korean}? it's true. i tried KIA, which is korean for "really cheap car." then i had no idea how to complete A_DEEL/C_KOR, even once i figured out that EEL is its own word. |
joon, |
BTW, "kin" is gold in Japanese, so I figured the most common name in Korea is a good bet. |
Isn't it Atom Ant not Adam Ant? |
Larchgirl: Well, there's the straight-up adjective "adamant"—each theme entry takes the letters ANT without any insect ramifications. But there's also '80s British new wave singer Adam Ant ("Goody Two Shoes"), who could lend ANTness if it were clued as MADAM I'M ADAM ANT. |
