I liked Joon's Roman numerals: it made me laugh when I read it, and its the only theme here that would make me want to stop solving the puzzle - that's really bad. |
aw, thanks! the sad thing is, i did more research for that theme than i did for many of my actual themes. but seth's theme is hilarious. my wife lived in micronesia (on chuuk, to be precise) for two years, so i could actually name the federated states... so it's particularly poignant for me. i mean, POHNPEI in a hidden words theme? incredible. |

If the winner is to be the puzzle you would least likely enjoy and least likely solve, my vote goes to Sethg. I, too, laughed at joon's because it is absurd. Even with an explanation, Jangler's is so far out there that it may qualify as a volatile gas. |
i do believe the worst man won. congrats, seth! proud to be among the honorably mentioned and must cite my own special fondness for howard's lively !@#$%^&* idea (an abstract/arbitrary complement to joon's yotp); and DA's entries as well. they were reeeeeally bad indeed! |
Congrats, they were all enjoyably awful :). SethG's and joon's were especially cringe-worthy. I thought Jangler's was pretty clever, as well. (Thanks, janie, you had some fun stuff too). |
Orange, Thank you! A dishonorable mention! And I thought I would be summarily disqualified: upon rereading my entry, I see I used part of an answer in its clue (PEOPLE/people). Major whoops. |
karma -- on the other hand, it just adds to the badness, no? |
Whoo-hoo! You hate me, you really hate me! |
Thank you, thank you, it sucks to suck among so many sucky competitors. |
