Man oh man, when I saw that old chestnut BASIL RATHBONE in today's NYT, I let out a groan that most others on my train probably heard! But, this puzzle was definitely redeemed from the hackneyed theme by the sparkling fill...loved all the multi-word entries sprinkled among the herbs...

A busy crossword day for me. In addition to the NYT, I did the NYS and both of Ben's...well, I finished Giants of the Interstate and all but maybe a dozen letters of the other. My brain is tired.

But it's time for the Wednesday puzzle, so must recharge.
