Mutterings From the Back Row

Gravatar Jeeze, I am out of the loop big time. I had no idea this was going on.

If you have a problem with HNT don't go to those blogs that participate. To do so just to bad-mouth them is childish at best and sick at worst.

I find it a fun and mostly innocent way of expressing one's self.

Not that I play. I haven't gotten that "makes things look bigger than they actually are" lens yet.

Gravatar I saw the first site you were talking about and it DID bother me. It made me think twice about continuing too! But, I decided, when the time comes for me to stop, it will be my decision and not because of a post like that.

Gravatar You know how many losers there are out there who get off on this stuff??

Someone "swiping" the pics is what it's all about, isn't it?? You guys are all about the attention you receive from people. It seems you thrive on it.

You post half naked photos, some full naked photos and you don't think there's some freak out there printing out your pictures and jerking off with it?? Get a fucking clue.

Oh and Rabbit... there are other ways to build self esteem, but I guess 50 year old guys jerking off to your picture is a good start, huh?? What-TF-ever.

Gravatar It appears that one of my photos was chosen as a "don't" for that guy's post. How thrilling that he found it in such bad taste! Awhile back, another site used one of my pics as an example of a "good" HNT - I guess you've just got to take the nice guys along with the asswipes.

Gravatar Hey binsk,

just see that. Totally paranoid? You're url is in the HNT-blogroll, on Osbasso's blog. No need to use www.blogspot.com ;)

Gravatar Binsk,

timing. Understand that word? Yours was wrong. k.

Anyway it is a free world. It is actually sad how Osbasso reacts, because with popularity comes ...

But back to you. Why did you have to turn this into a personal rant. My first comment was actually a constructive aid, a how to do it better to avoid the same problems. But why don't you change your behaviour a little. You were the one who started bashing other people. Now you already ended up in your little corner, obviously close to sobbing. Or are you already?
You criticized publicly 3 persons here. We all three have open comments. Nothing to hide. You shut down your comments after the review. IT2M'ers don't have a 'troll reputation'. Paranoia ?

Gravatar I didn't close my comments for you or any of your posse. If I didn't want to hear from you I would put comment moderation on...

Why don't you and your four friends just go away and stop bothering those of us who actually like Osbasso and HNT.

Gravatar There are easy ways around the "right-click" too. That doesn't make your picture safe!

Gravatar "Creative commons" is a bunch of bullshit. It's like leaving your diamond ring sitting on the dashboard of your unlocked car.
And in my opinion, "that guy's" post about the silliness of HNT was hilarious. I think he was bashing the people that abuse the "rules", and not the idea of what the inventor of HNT had in mind.
And Binsk, get over it. You're the nuisance that goes around leaving anonymous, RUDE comments on people's sites, That is why you had to CLOSE your own commenting on your site, idiot.
That is something I do not do.
And I could care less you left my link here, I didn't come here to bash this blog owner; what I said, I said at my own place.

Gravatar Blah blah blah. Everyone's got their knickers in a twiist. There's ALWAYS someone out there to say your "creativity" sucks. Fuck that guy. Way too much bandwidth already spent on him. HNT was always anything goes. You want to post your kids, great. Your tits? Fine. It'd be nice if people would indicate Not Safe For Work in their comment but other than that I'm all for liberty. As far as pics being stolen I agree that you can make your pics not have the right click & save option. Maybe we should publish that info and let folks who don't want their pics pirated do it that way? Me, I don't care what people think so much. Make fun. You don't have the guts to do it. If you do well then rock on. Everyone's got an opinion. I happen to really like a couple of the pics he was bitching about.

Gravatar a couple of thought, which probably have been addressed, but i tend to write, then read to avoid outside influence....

1. swiping the hnt photos of others just strikes me as a bit....rude. riticizing said pictures is downright shameful.

2. i'm all for free speech, but if i'm surfing through at work, i'd really appreciate some sort of "nsfw" warning if there's a potential that i'm going to wind up staring at someone's schlong on my monitor....as the boss walks by. perhaps someone could share whatever string of code it is that "cloaks" pictures so you have to click on them to see them- just as a courtesy?

3. (i scrolled up a bit and had to add this one)
should i apologize for my ignorance, tracy? (whom i'm betting will be back) i didn't know there were "save as"- blocking codes...and i consider myself to be somewhat computer-literate and html-friendly....as do most folks on here, i'm sure.

Gravatar Binsk,

I just happen to surf blogs and see HNT. If you would have read my comments and used your (hopefully present brain) you would have noticed that I don't care about HNT. Until today I even never visited this site (I always use the same IP btw, so do you actually. I read 'fuckyou' and you have the same IP ;) )

If you read wikipedia, yes I am fully aware of there not being any pictures of you @ wikipedia, you'll nowhere find something that blogging is about being nice. You submitted your site for a review in a field right under ::
Submit your site for a loving review.
If you are weak of heart or get upset easily don't bother.

To me that sounds like people who might not be nice. Fair enough I'ld say. They weren't, actually they were if you read the first comments. You screwed it up. Afterwards you went trolling (logs prove this). Now you want to bash over here. LOSER.

Oh btw, I got a little nifty tool to track comments, it's called co.mment and it is wonderfull.

Get a life, stop your 14 year old insulting over the whole internet. We 'stay in our corner'. This post is an exception on the behaviour of most commenters from IT2M. Nor annie, Ms.Chatty or I usually comment on reviewed blogs.

And no I am not interested in a flame over here, just being a little more objective. Oh and I work from home... online k.

Gravatar Funny. "Fuck you" and you had the same IP address. Might want to check the locks on your doors. I think someone broke in and used your computer!

How is one comment obsessing hmm?

How is it you turned his post into your own personal rant spot?

Gravatar Hey Cp, maybe you could use a net nanny for yourself, then you wouldn't be so horrified by the things that you see on your computer.

Who are you to tell other people what to do?
You must be a ball of laughs to hang out with.

Gravatar Ms. Chatty and Madbull sure spend a lot of time obsessing over HNT. I thought you guys hated everything to do with it? Why would you be here commenting?

I remember when blogging was all about being nice to eachother, that is until the idiots found someone to help them work their computer.

Gravatar Well said Os.

All I can say is I've been listening to this same stuff over the past few days...and it's really pathetic. If you don't like HNT then go on with your life and stop talking about it non-stop.

http://www.onethingihateabouttod...y.blogspot.com/

I don't know who 'fuck you' is that made those comments though. ;)

I have a creative licence on my site which you can register for pretty easily and it states that you must ask the owner of the blog for their permission to use their pictures.

Gravatar You GO, baby.
I didn't read the HNT-bashing post, but I still feel that HNT is a celebration of the body and how the body reflects where we are, currently, in our minds and souls. Once you create soemthing like this that grows organically, it is a wide-open Pandora's box, I am afraid. It's one thing if people post their own full-on purple-headed genitalia (though I don't appreciate it, myself); it's quite another thing to "rip" others' photos, without asking. Copyrighted or no, it's just etiquette. I hope that you will, at least for a while, continue to be the hub of this weekly highpoint!

Gravatar i remember when HNT used to really mean Half-NT. now it seems like a whole lotta of Full nekkid. if that's what people want to do, that's cool.

i'll just think back to the fond memories of when HNT was simple and pure. *sniff*

Gravatar Very good post! I agree with you. I have found my own posts leaning toward the nudity rather than the spirit that is HNT. I am going to go back and start getting with the program again! I also agree that if someone has posted your image, start with asking them to remove it. I'll bet most will. If not initiate a complaint. I'll step down now, as always, great site

Gravatar Uh everyone has a creative common because they think they need one because everyone else has one. Welcome to the real blogosphere.

90% of the bloggers with CC don't know, and can't be bothered to read, all the different licenses. Welcome to the real blogophere.
Besides that ask Blogger/Google for the IP and details of the one who has taken the picture. I think you might have fun there.

Gravatar Although it is very wrong for people to take others photos without permission, unless the photo is under a copyright or creative commons it's fair game. Everyone should post a creative commons on their blogs to protect their things from things like that. It's easy, and means that legally they need permision to take it (and what they can or can not do with it is determined by the specific commons) and you have the right to take action when you feel violated. I am too lazy to look up the link so click the button from my site if you are interested in setting it up on your own.

Gravatar But it certainly *is* scary to know that anyone can just rip yer photo and post it on their blog and make fun of it for no apparent reason.

It's naive to assume that they WON'T be.

Gravatar Wow. I just can't believe that guy would do that. I've heard of his blog before, but I've never visited before today. Yeah, I understand that posting information and pictures on a public forum such as a blog doesn't entitle you to copyright of such material, but people like him should just shove off and follow my own personal philosophy of live and let live. You might not like what other post on their HNTs, but who cares?!?! Just don't visit and don't look. Personally, I keep to a couple of regulars that I've gotten to know thru blogging and I only visit them b/c I know that they do mort artistic and/or funny HNT, and really don't venture to the porn HNT. Not that there's anything wrong with posting pics like that... I'm just not into that.
But it certainly *is* scary to know that anyone can just rip yer photo and post it on their blog and make fun of it for no apparent reason.
And like you said, if HNT disgusts him so much, why the *hell* is he still visiting sites that participate in HNT?! What a dumbass. Obviously, he doesn't mind it too much, now does he? *He's* the perv.
Ugh. I'm sorry you had to go thru all that Os. Just shake it off, and keep on keepin' on.

Gravatar If you post your pic on the Internet, you're taking a huge risk of it being "stolen".
A person has to be REALLY naive to think it "can't" be stolen, used, abused, made fun of, or worse yet, PhotoShopped into a compromising position. If you are worried about any of those things, DON'T POST IT.

Gravatar personal responsibility.

Yeah. THat's it. Now Im done.

Gravatar I got cut off. Crap. I guess what I was going to say is this...

HNT started as a very "pure" idea. It started as a man taking pictures of his children on the beach, did it not? Then, evolved with another woman taking pics of body parts of her, her husband and their kids...but nothing over the top. And YOU state there should be a story to go with the body part...right?

I just think that the original concept of HNT has been lost on the masses. Now, if you don't care about that, Osbasso, terrific. But, these people with some really obscene pictures are linking BACK to you. It is a reflection of YOU.

I am not, of course, referring to the pictures that were "stolen" on the webpage you mentioned. Frankly, I didn't find any of them to be offensive and certainly not the most disgusting of the lot. There is no need to tear down self esteem on any level. Every body is beautiful in their own right. But, if you have an idea that you want to reflect something that started as pure...then why aren't you enforcing your own guidlelines?

All I can speculate is that this became something that you started for the hell of starting...but you have no drive or passion behind it. And that's a shame, because it started as a really wonderful idea. A body part with a story. A scar on a tummy. A scrape on a knee. A shoulder clad in a new piece of lingerie. A hand with a brand new engagment ring. The tiny foot of a newborn baby. The swell of a breast from a woman with brand new implants. Hell, even the nipple piercing was fine! She had a story! She was showing it off?

But cum shots? Jerk off shots? Clit shots?

This is what came to you as your idea for HNT...when it started so innocently?

Patrol the HNT sites! I know you monitor them, I know you comment on them. I've seen it. And have anyone who isn't respecting your guidelines REMOVE YOUR BUTTON. People are using a beautiful artistic idea to whore themselves out on the internet, and that's ridiculous. It's like they feel they have "your permission". Why you would want your name attached to that is beyond me.

I have no problem with HNT. People who do it? Great. Just not for me. I got over that phase of my life a LONG time ago. But people that are doing it under the guise of your original premise...as an excuse to put disgusting porn shots of themselves up? No.

And face it, Osbasso. You put up your naked pics, people are going to look at them and have opinions about them. If you look skanky to them, they are going to say it. If you look beautiful, they will say that too. But, to expect to put your pics on the internet and not have them abused or stolen is just naive. REALLY naive. It happens. It's one of the downfalls of the internet.

Reminds me of girls on those "Girls Gone Wild" videos who flash their tits for a t-shirt, and then cry to daddy when they end up on the commercial or the cover of the box...humiliated.

It's about pe

Gravatar Where are the times that people posted just 'shoulder or knee shots'.

The internet, blogosphere is populated with loads of sensible whing babies. A huge majority respect 'what everyone thinks the basic spirit of HNT was'. Other people use very (is vulgar the appropriate word) 'strange' pictures for something like HNT. Imagine a huge newspaper would have reviewed the blogosphere and used HNT (with a selection of pictures) as an example for a leading meme. How different would the reactions have been if those pictures would have shown up in a newspaper? Just a random thought.

Osbasso, why don't you get a domain, webspace and install a picture hosting service (there are very cheap scripts) with digimark generator in the upload procedure. People could then post their picture after having submitted it on your site. With a little scripting knowledge you could even avoid that the (remotely hosted pcitures) are used on another site. If now someone wants to use the pictures nevertheless (let's all forget the 'block right click', if I want a picture I get it no matter how) their will always be a digimark. And you (HNT) will have a legal point. A tipjar will definately help HNT to get enough of money for this. Easily. You get 20GB webspace, 1TB bandwith (weekly increasing) starting at $7.49

But lets not forget first to think, blame one self, before spitting out the anger. The attempt to 'host/run' something like HNT has been very poorly executed, no matter how popular it is. k.
If nothing changes, this situation will always go on and frust/anger will always be there. Just as licking the wounds for participants.

I liked the 'idea' of HNT, although personally I found it too boring to participate. Today HNT has gone 'bad/porn'. I block HNT-blogs in the firewall of my employer. My colleagues are allowed to surf. But HNT (everyone has to suffer for the 'bad ones') is rated sex today.

Gravatar Allow me to give you the flipside of the argument, please. Allow me to play Devil's Advocate. I am friends with said "poster" who ridiculed HNT'ers on his site. I would like to point out the following quotes, made by me, on his site:

"I do agree with HDW about how hurtful it is to grab personal things off peoples sites, BUT...it is public fodder once it hits the internet. Regardless of what Osbasso's intent was, it has gone awry."

Now, I am not an HNT'er. Not for lack of want or anything, sometimes, I think it would be fun. However, I have been through the "naked pic" part of my internet life...and have well-moved on from it. I do respect those who are still well entrenched in that phase of their life. I have a woman, on my sidebar, who puts beautiful photos of herself up for HNT. She's a lovely woman and she really "gets" what the intent of HNT was. Truly, Osbasso, this was your baby...your creation...and I THINK...that you shouldn't be free to hand out your "HNT" button with a link back to your site to those who are not respecting what the original premise was. I LIKE the original premise. Why the hell not?? But, having said that...

you need to understand that anything you post on the internet, be it written or photograph, video or music, has the potential to be stolen. Just last week, I had a very serious, heartfelt and painful post stolen from my site. I happened upon it, and I felt completely violated by it. Mind you, these were only my words, not naked pictures of myself. Truth be known, I would have preferred naked pics of me to circulate the internet as opposed to this particular post. I felt violated. I felt raped. I went about the proper procedure to have my work removed. I also am aware that I put that post out there, and not everyone respects the space and privacy of others.

As far as making fun of the people in those HNT pics go, I am absolutely with you. I find it to be shallow, hurtful and abusive for no reason. I expressed this opinion on the my friends blog as well. I do see both sides of these opposing points of view. I don't think making fun of specifics where peoples bodies are concerned is healthy for anyone. I was angry that he chose to make fun of a few "thicker" women who in my opinion, looked beautiful. He knows this.

However, be fair Osbasso. You DO/DID have an original intention for your HNT. When I first started blogging in December (yes, I am still pretty new, but well-read) I was intrigued by the concept. I came to your site. I read about it. I went through a few pictures and said "wow, beautiful". I was impressed. (Not that my being impressed is the guideline all people should heed to, I am not that full of myself, thank you very much). However, as I took the time to surf around a bit more, I found there were people being outright abusive with YOUR link and what is considered HNT. I would think, as this was your idea, and obviously a successful

Gravatar I agree that HNT isn't what it used to be. It has gone down the porn road, and it doesn't "appear" to me that much thought is put into it. Anyone can post a picture of a nipple, and it seems like anyone will.

Gravatar Frightening.

Gravatar Um. if you post a half naked photo of yourself WITHOUT using codes to STOP people from right clicking to save as.. then you're friggin' stupid and the pics are out there for anyone to use for whatever purpose.

you guys are pathetic.

go ahead ban me from posting. i won't be back.

stupid fucks

Gravatar Now then...

I know exactly which post you're talking about and I have to admit that I am really disappointed. I understand if he has a problem with it... So why use their pics to make fun? Why not just use his flair for written word and make his faithful readers happy. I was truly shocked at some of the people that I saw commenting in agreement and it does shed a new light on them. :(

I see HNT as so much more than porn and "nasty" pictures. I've saw some of the most artistic and bravest pictures ever through this.

I won't stand back and applaud his efforts to degrade bloggers that participate... If some hate it so much, only surf their friends.

As for the "favorites" thing... ack... I don't know. That is super creepy.

Gravatar fuckabunchofguidelines... :)

if you dont like the pics that i post, then dont come see them...its that simple...yes, i post pics that may or may not be considered half or nekkid or art...but they are me...and i have fun with it...

as to the people who have nothing better to do than to take others pics and post them...either for their enjoyment, or the encouragement of ridicule...it is really sad to see it happening...

are we not allowed to be who we are, without question, without judgement, without someone trying to break down the confidence that we have fought so hard to have and keep?? some people should be shot...

ugh...

peace...

Gravatar Former HNTers?

Gravatar HNT is such a confidence-building exercise that I find it positively deplorable that someone would ridicule those bloggers' pictures. Don't people have anything better to do than break down the self esteem of others?
