I also have a nice recipe for barbecued shrimp, and although rich I believe it has quite a bit less than 2 pounds of butter (Medic! STAT! And bring the beurreblancilator!). When I send you the recipe, I'll add "Serves 1" to the bottom lest CLA be concerned that you intend to turn this into a weekly meal event.
No eggplant? No capers? It is to weep.

Yeah, that's a recipe that says it serves 8-- and I think it means 8 linebackers. I cut it in half, and had shrimp left over for a kind of fra diavolo dish I improvised Monday. Nobody liked that either (except me).

I'm coming to your house, and making it over in all wicker. And feathers. I see lots and lots of feathers.

Well, Tom -- let’s do some word association with your band list from the KRAC Blog and see:
The Strokes / Stiff peaks.
White Stripes / Poorly tempered chocolate.
Shins / Of lamb.
Jet / Dry.
Yeah. You may be on to something.

How can she not like red peppers?! One of the worst things about vegetarianism is the limits it imposes on sandwiches, but you can never go wrong with roasted red peppers, provalone cheese, and olive tapenade. What are we having for dinner tonight? SPINACH LASAGNA ROLL-UPS. What is that? I have no idea.

Guh. Sounds like, "I screwed up the spinich lasagna."
Your sandwich, on the other hand, sounds really good.

Roasted red peppers are pimentos and should be stuffed into olives. On a sandwich, I think they tend towards slippery, to put it kindly, but raw they add flavor and crunch very nicely.

Depends. The ones you get in a jar that have been sitting on the bottom shelf at the deli can be disapointing, but nice freshly roasted peppers, or roasted peppers that are not completely macerated in olive oil can be quite nice. I realize that the appeal may be lost on some, but I am particularly fond of the nice roasted red peppers on a turkey sub. Smoked turkey, in particular, workes well with this.

As yet another resident that enjoys cooking, and, to date has not poisoned anyone [either intentionally or unintentionally], I feel compelled to weigh in on this one. The females in the house are not the only ones who are a difficult audience. The Flash has been known to turn up his nose at delightful meals whose only flaw is that they were not made by him. So put that in your Cuis and pulse it!

I deny it. "Delightful" is surely an overstatement.

I intent to use the phrase "So put that in your Cuis and pulse it!" at least once a day for a while. Thank you.
And although the appellation "The Flash" begs for comment -- perhaps another time, another blog.

Well, I don't like red peppers in any form nor yellow nor green ones either. I DO like things with capers. I DO like anchovies. What I really love is anything made with sundried tomatoes. Anyway, I had to throw this in to make an even 20 comments.

Yeah, well, when we add y'all to the mix things get really complicated. WJA's well-known aversion to all things fromage takes a number of things off the carte, and you are not being entirely forthcoming when you limit the list of things you won't eat to peppers. You are polite about it, but still picky.
