Gravatar I loved both those movies, but I agree that American Splendor was a little more enjoyable: Lost in Translation was very emotionally aloof, which I like (Wes Anderson, for instance, is my favorite director), and Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanson are good (have you seen Ghost World yet?). What did the rest of the family think?

Gravatar Lost In Translation was a visual treat and a wonderfully moody movie. It set out to make the point of its title and did. Dad didn't like it.

American Splendor was just sooo different! But I approached it with Em's and Tommy's comics and enjoyed it thoroughly. Imaginative, different, sort of loser-bitter, funny. That's quite alot for a small movie.
