I think everyone has been looking at the wrong guy.

In that picture where the hostage is being led away by the arm, there's a guy with a grey coat and a turtleneck.

That's the new Pres of Iran, IMO.

I agree. I would like to post it on FR but I'm not registered. Look at the Yahoo collection of pictures, page 16, 5th from bottom. The guy is sitting on a sofa with his head very much on the same angle as the guy in the grey jacket. Try enlarging and reversing him and put them up for comparison. There are other shots in that collection too that show him with the dark area around his eyes and it looks the same.
