Thanks for your input.....

Hey great news from the NY Times. They military has recently relaxed it's recruiting standards. I'm sure you'd qualify for the infantry now (they are taking criminals and such). Since you had expressed your desire to join, I'd just thought I'd point out that you should try again.

Let us know how it goes...

"This is not about money and benefits; this is about message," General Pace said at a Pentagon briefing on Wednesday. "If we let our young folks and middle-young folks know how much we appreciate their service to their country - there are thousands and thousands of young men and women out there who want to serve this country."

That's OK, I'll just keep with my plan of going back to college and continue to carry my gun on me and if I see anyone in a bulky coat (ie..homicide bomber) here in FL yelling "Allahu Akbar" I'll just do my part and put a bullet in their head.

And where in that story does it say they are taking criminals?

The military has always been able to recruit criminals. They do require a waiver, and there is anecdotal evidence that those are being granted more liberally now.

Info on the military policies here:

I'm not surprised that you still won't join the military. Just another chickenhawk..

The world is full of "I'm gonna do" people... but good luck anyway..

Some offenses can be waived, and others cannot.

I'm in the "others cannot" category.
