Thanks for your input.....

Gravatar "I haven't seen a rash of law abiding gun carrying Floridians shooting people at "health care facilities", or anywhere for that matter."

Of course if they were law-abiding they wouldn't shoot people. If they started they'd no longer be law-abiding. But you're right, the law doesn't seem to make sense, and I'd like to why this state rep would want to limit "health care facilities" specifically.

Gravatar Since it is from a dem I'd bet a dollar this has something to do with abortion clinics.

After all they consider that "health care."

.

Gravatar That may be right. Look I've been supportive of some gun control measures in the past. But this particular one, if your understanding of it is accurate, doesn't seem to accomplish much.

Gravatar The PDF link in my post is the exact words that would be added.

"any health care facility;" Is the only thing she adds other than grammatical changes. That's seems really vague to me.

Plus the other grammatical things she wants to change seems really dumb.

The law is fine the way it's written now.

I understand it.

.

Gravatar Never doubted it, Ox. Just as I hadn't read it, I wanted to put in a little disclaimer.

Gravatar Never doubted it, Ox.

Well I figured that, I just wanted to make sure you knew that the "any health care facility;" line wasn't some type of summary and was what the change in the law was.

It'd be better if they said "any health care facility;", a health care facility being defined as....place ABC, XYZ.

I'd still disagree with it but it'd be more coherent.

.

Gravatar Maybe the dems are counting on making the law vague and letting the courts interpret "Health care facility" as broadly as possible.

Gravatar What a load of dung
