Maybe a massive campaign to have a Demo write in on the ballot for Sheehan--and maybe a massive campaign for Sheehan to rejoin the Demo party, and spearhead a 'get rid of the trash that heads the party'.
To our misfortune the only avenue to counter the 'Pugs is a large Demo turnout--and that turnout has to be geared to replace the Pelosi/Reid puglight bunch.

Our "Democratic Majority" Congress may have as well been a Republican majority as the Democratic "leadership" is as weak as can possibly be. They certainly are not representing what I want to see happen!
Their concept of leading a "bipartisan majority" is an abject failure, passing only the bills the Republicans and Bush want and getting nothing in return. The Republicans do not reciprocate, so screw them.
Democratic leadership needs to learn from the previous Republican Congress and obstruct the bills repugnant to Democrats. The same for appointments who will be Bush acolytes, like the proposed Attorney General who cannot decide if waterboarding is torture.
What else may he decide is not torture? He should not be allowed to become Attorney General as he will obviously be another Gonzo.
Unfortunately the Democrats in Congress are not even all on the same page! Some of them regularly vote with republicans and those who do need to see some opposition candidates in their next primaries. Some, like Leiberman need to be expelled from the Democrat caucuses as soon as enough of a majority is achieved, which should happen in the next election.

Don't you find it odd that most Democrats across the country say ending the occupation in Iraq is the most important issue in this country, yet support Hillary Clinton who won't even commit to being out by 2013?

Ending it with a political solution is what is necessary. There is no military solution that will end our involvement with the war in Iraq.
We cannot just pull out and leave Iraq broken to become another Taliban-like theocracy of fanatic lunatic religionists who will support terrorism and destabilize the entire middle east.
Bush and his crusade have left only choices that are bad and worse. At this point there currently is no solution. The next president must figure out some way to develop one - and if it takes more than one term, it does. We all hope it will not, but any truthful candidate must honestly say they can't predict the events that will occur in Iraq, or anywhere else for that matter, and cannot promise anything regarding Iraq other than they will try their best to end our involvement there.
The blame lies with the Bush administration.
