I've been a lurker of yours as well; and I'm going to pass on something that one of my daughter's therapists (who is a Christian also) told me: "God gives these children to the strong mothers. If He did not think you were strong enough to walk through this, He would not have given you this child". That gets me through many a day.
My daughter was born with an non-developed cerebellum and a rare visual condition called Ocular Motor Apraxia.
I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Your daughter is so beautiful and is so clearly "Heaven Sent".
I'm praying for you all. I can't even imagine how tough all of this must be. My baby Julia was born 15 months ago and on the second day diagnosed with a hole in her heart.
It was so terrifying to hear the doctor say that... But thankfully the hole has turned out to be small and she is growing well despite it. So she may need surgery later, but not for now.
I am so sorry that you've had to suffer through all the worrying... I pray that you will continue to have peace from God.
And bless you for sharing about this on your blog. It helps so many moms when we all can lean on each other and learn from each other.

Sarah, I believe that in all the ways God works his will is best. We as Christians must believe in the depths as well as when everything is hunkey Dorey. So many times we come in a crisis expecting God to meet our needs, but when we are faithful at all times is when we can truely see the miracles. I know Addison is in the Lords healing arms.

Just saw your wonderful update....continue to pray for Addison and your family. Can't help thinking out loud my life motto - "God has a plan, and it IS good!". We don't have to understand it all, but we know that He holds it all in His hands - the good times, the angry times, the uncertain times....it all belongs to Him.

Oh, how great is your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which you have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! ....
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them.
"Because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the Lord...and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have you." says the Lord.
On this one I will look: him who is poor and of a contrite spirit and trembles at My word.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.
I couldn't help but think of you all today, and this mornings devotion was so fitting for you.

Sarah: God is in control. Addison's Testimony will be AWESOME.... I know this from personal experience as me (31 years ago); my brother (33 years ago); a maternal cousin (23 years ago) and one of my brother's daughters (2 1/2 years ago) had open-heart surgery. Syd, my niece praises Jesus on her recovery almost daily and accepted Salvation on the one year Anniversary (almost to the day) of her heart surgery. When the Doctors asked Syd if she was scared, she said "NO, ARE YOU?" When they said "A LITTLE" she did not miss a beat, she told them "Don't be scared when you open me up Jesus will be in there waiting for you and will wave at you." We found out later the main Dr. was not a believer when after the MIRACALOUSNESS of Syd's surgery, he told my brother and his sister-n-law that "I don't believe in Jesus BUT there must be something to what your daughter said about Jesus." Syd was 4 1/2 when she had Open-Heart Surgery. I pray it comforts you to know that Jesus is waving at Addison's Doctors today. God Bless.

You are on my heart today and in my prayers. We too have had a devestating diagnosis to deal with this past year - one that affects three generations of our family. I know (I really do ) exactly how you feel. I also know that God is in control, and He is love, and He is good. We learned a new song in choir this year, and one of the lines says "In the good times and bad You are on Your throne, You are God alone". He holds Addison in the palm of His hand, and He knew her before the foundations of time. He knew; He knows; He will work all things together according to His plan. Our part (our very difficult part) is to simply trust.

Although we don't know eachother I've been following your journey from Lisa W. site. I believe my husband has met yours at the C3 conference. Our son now 3 yrs. old had open heart surgery on his 5 month B-day. It was quite a heart wrenching week. We just had a healthy baby girl on March 21. I just wanted to let you know when our son had surgery we wanted as many people as possible to be praying and God indeed heard the many many prayers. I woke up at 4:00 am pacific time to nurse and prayed for your family and this morning asked my husband to pray for you. He has not been following your blogs like myself but he prayed for your daughter as well. I've been somewhat skeptic of blogging but today praying for your family I wanted to commend you on sharing your story this way. I also heard the message at Fellowship last week. It's amazing and awesome how many thousands of people must be praying for your daughter today. If two strangers in San Diego are lifting her up I can only imagine all of the others. These prayers will carry you in the days ahead. We will keep praying.

Sarah - I found your site through Lisa Welchel's site. As I read your post today, tears were coming like buckets. I have an 11 month old daughter who was born at 29 weeks. After 3 surguries and 95 days in the NICU she came home and is perfect. We have seen the miracles that God performs. He is so good. Your post hit so close to home and I wanted to you to know that although we don't know each other, I will be praying for you, your family, and precious Addision. May you find peace today and know that He is with Addison and holding her tightly! My prayers are with her doctor's and nurses also and I thank God that he gave them their gifts and knowledge so that little ones like Kate and Addision can be healed through them. God Bless.

Sarah, we are praying for all of you & doctors too. I experienced, what was for me an overwhelming disability 10 years ago. I had only known God in, as you say it, in the mountain tops, but I then, after tremendous struggle, came to know him in the deep, deep valleys. I know what it's like to love God so much but also be so angry with Him in a different way than a lot of people understand. We've been through heartache and bad diagnoses with our oldest son, and praise God for His faithfulness even when we don't deserve it. We've seen His miracles, His Promises. He is Good. And works everything for Good. Today my son is healed. Praying today Addison is healed.

When I woke up this morning, Addison was instantly on my heart. I am praying for her and Mommy and Daddy. I KNOW that the Lord is going to give you super natural peace while you wait! He is the great healer and He is more than capable of healing Addison's heart so I praise Him now for doing so! There is a song that says, For all that you've done I will thank you. For all that you're going to do. FOr all that you've promised and all that you are, And all that has carried me through, Jesus I thank you.

Prayers have been lifted for you and Addison. I wish I could sit in that waiting room with you and hold your hand through this. Its such a tough position to be in, yet so humbling at the same time. One of the things that I held onto during Emmas heart transplant surgery was the fact that my savior is all knowing, all compassing and He had my little girl in the palms of His hand- which is the best and most safe place for her to be!
I will be impatiently waiting your update, and until then, she will be covered in constant prayer.
