Thank you for your comment!

Gravatar It's going to be perfect. Just perfect. And no one will remember when you finished it. They'll just lurve it to pieces.

Gravatar I'm so impressed that you are so ambitious!

I have a beautiful Amish quilting frame, and every year I think how marvelous it would be to stretch a quilt top into it to work on in the quiet moments.

I have the frame, and many tops that need quilting. Now all I need to pin down are the quiet moments! I am wise enough to know those don't just happen...we have to choose to create space for them. I always long for a bit more discipline in that area.

Show more pictures as you make progress!

I enjoyed meeting you at the troop's ice cream social last spring, which now seems like a long, long time ago. Hope you're having a blessed summer!

Gravatar Beautiful...is that the quilt you made with your daughter's baby clothes? Precious

Gravatar I have a quilt that looks very similar to this that my great grandmother made me when I was born. I cherish it. Think about how long this project will be enoyed when it takes you "forever" to get it done. It's a true work of love.

Gravatar This is beautiful, Sarah! Quilts are a passion of mine, though I've never gone as far as to make my own. My grandmother quilted often and made a wedding quilt for each of her 18 grandchildren when they were married. Something I will always cherish!
The other day I picked up a hand-stitched quilt at a yard sale for $2 that is in excellent condition. I bought it for my daughter, who shares my love for quilts.
Hmmm - I need to blog about that! (and show pics!). Soon!

Gravatar Do you have a good web-site or book that would be helpful to beginning hand quilters. I love having a project to work on when I am watching TV. Thanks!

Gravatar It looks lovely Sarah. It does take a long time, but I like the process - the quiet putting in of each stitch. It will have a special place in your heart when you are all finished!

Gravatar It will be awesome no matter when you get it done! It will be appreciated greatly, too, because you made it for them!

Gravatar I just noticed your Book list has Home Comforts in it. That is one of my favorite all time books even though it is more of a reference book!
I tried hand quilting and I gave up after doing the center block. I ended up giving it to a friend and she finished the hand quilting part. Someday I hope to try it again. I gave up because I tried too hard to have so many stitches to the inch... too much for a beginner.
Look forward to seeing your finished product.
I enjoy your blog. Thanks for writing.
