Thank you for your comment!

Sarah,
As I set at home tonight Brad is gone, Noah in bed early (a first), my in-laws (whom we are still living with) are gone...therefore, I had free time! I wasted time on the computer until I remembered your blog. I've loved seeing what all has been happening with your sweet family. Addison is beautiful and big and precious! It blesses me to see how wonderful she is doing! Take care

Gravatar What a heart-wrenching thing to have to go through. Thank God your baby made it through and that you have the liberty to forget briefly.

A very touching story.

Gravatar Thanks for this post. It's soooo beautiful!

Gravatar Glory to God~~~{{}}C

Gravatar This just takes my breath away.

Gravatar What a praise and a testimony to the faithfulness of our almighty GOD!

Give sweet Addy a hug for us!

Renee and family

Gravatar Praise be to God for His indescribable gift! Thank you for reminding me to be thankful at all times and in all situations!

Gravatar Lisa, straight from Target, in the baby section Definitely a must-have!!

Gravatar God works miracles and does answer prayers. Your precious girl is proof.

God bless.

Gravatar Sarah - I enjoy checking in on your blog quite often and praise Him with you for miracles like Addison. My miracle's name is Emma and (on a lighter note) I must ask, where did you find those pink crocks? They are a must have for lil' girls! Lisa

Gravatar Your story is so amazing and inspiring. You have been through so much! My husband also had open heart surgery when he was little - age 3 at the time because back then they didn't do it on babies as much. He's almost 30 now and as healthy as can be. I pray for Addison's continued strengthening and healing and for God's blessing to be on all of you.

Gravatar Such a cutie!

That must have been the most heart wrenching event to go through. I don't think I could do it. God has been so gracious to you.

Kim

Gravatar That Addison is so cute I just want to squeeze her cheeks! Congratulations on a year, and I'm looking forward to many more reading your blog about that sweet baby with the cheeks.

Chrissy

Gravatar Sarah, she's beautiful! Thank God for such an amazing blessing.

Gravatar What a beautiful post. I had open heart surgery myself over 30 years ago. I was ten months old. I'm sure my parents felt the same way you do. You have a beautiful little girl and now God has marked her as His own. That's how I've always viewed my scar, which is probably much worse-looking than Addison's will be! Blessings on your sweet family!

Gravatar Keep celebrating. Keep toasting. And keep writing.

Gravatar God bless you Sarah and that sweet baby.

Gravatar I still remember walking into that room with you. She was so fragile and so strong at the same time. And I can now see you were too. Congrats on getting this far in your journey. Here is to many more years to come. =)

Gravatar "...even the near-forgetting was a gift."

Amen...but it IS good to remember God's goodness. So, congratulations on experiencing BOTH.

She is so precious.

Gravatar I'm a lurker, coming out to say how happy I am for your family. Addison is beautiful, as well as very, very blessed to have such a loving mommy. I found you thru Lisa Whelchel's site awhile back when she linked us to you or you guest posted or something....Thanks for all the inspiration! Blessings to you and precious Addison.

Gravatar Having read your Aunt Barb's site and your mum's site. I wanted to read your site. What a miracle she is,the darling girl.SHe is just precious..

Gravatar What a beautiful Blessing God has given you. Praise God for her health today. I Pray for many more Blessings throughout her life.

Gravatar God is great, God is Awesome.
Go Addison....

One of my nurses went through this same thing... Her baby girl had surgery last year on Valentine's day (How fitting) a few days after she was born. I remember walking along side her each day as she went through this (I know not completely understanding her feelings). She had to totally turn it over to God. Not like you have a choice.
But today she is very healthy and happy and she is beautiful. Your stories sound so similiar.

We are raising lots of money here in Georgia for the Heart Association.

Blessings to your precious little Addison.

By the way, I have been following your story for sometime. You are quite the writer.

Connie

Gravatar That last post was from me!! Sorry!

Gravatar Oh Sarah!! Your sweet words just melt my heart everyday. Praise to our Father for precious Addison and the miraculous work He has done. God has LOADS in store for your miracle daughter. I could just eat her little cheeks off she is so adorable!!! Blessings to you all!!!

Gravatar What a great milestone. She has come so far, and she is just beautiful.

Gravatar I'm so thankful for my uneventful pregnancies and deliveries (despite age and infertility issues) and praise Him for your wonderful results! Happy "anniversary"!

Gravatar What a precious little girl you have, Sarah. Praise the Lord for what he has done... even in giving the scars, a daily reminder to celebrate, just a little more.

Gravatar Finally, Blogger is letting me comment! Sarah, you have moved me to much emotion on many occasions before with your writing but this is the first time I've cried. Your writing was simple, but the events tell all the story. Seeing the photos made Addison's extraordinary journey so much more real. It really makes her scars beautiful to see. My prayers continue for that precious little princess. What an amazing story. I especially loved your last line - how you were blessed in the forgetting. Guess that means you're nearer to "normal." Praise God In Heaven!

Gravatar God is good all the time and All the time God is good.
When we don't understand and we can't trace His plan trust his heart!

Gravatar BTW - where did you get those tiny little crocs? Too cute!

Gravatar Wow! Isn't God good! She is just beautiful and what a great reminder each day of God's mercy and grace!

Gravatar I've been reading your blog for about six months. Someone sent me over to pray for your little girl and I've been coming back ever since. Praise God with you that she is doing so well. She is beautiful.

Gravatar Okay, now I'm crying. Thank God she's fine and healthy, thank God that everything turned out all right. Your description of what it was like bringing her to the hospital, what it was like waiting made my own heart feel like it was breaking.

Gravatar Thank you for sharing your heart with us. And the determined look on Miss Addisons face post surgery... just a glimpse of years to come! Clink. Here's to many more.

Gravatar I am so glad that gave you the life of that baby. This was a hard post to read. Your little girl is such a sweet little thing.

Gravatar Praise the Lord for His wondrous working in Addison! And, for the miracle of her!

Gravatar "...even the near-forgetting was a gift."

So, so beautiful Sarah! Look at your beautiful, beautiful girl! God is so very good!

Gravatar We rejoice alongside of you all!

Gravatar Thank you for sharing your life with us! I am drawn closer to God when I read your story. I am thankful that Addison is doing so well!

Gravatar She's a beauty! Congrats on her health and a healthy marriage through all of the trials of the year!

Gravatar Thanks for sharing this, Sarah. What an amazing testimony and incredible blessing.

Gravatar Congrats on 6 months! She sure looks healthy now

Gravatar Praise God!

Gravatar Wow. God is SO good. I can't even imagine what you and your family has all been through, but I must say that you telling about it is truly inspiring. God is glorified in you. And in your daughter! Thank you for sharing about it so openly!

Gravatar Praise God, Praise God!

Gravatar God is sooo good! My friend just had a miracle happen to her son. The doctors told her and her husband while she was pregnant with Peyton that thier little boy would need heart surgery the first day he was born. From the time I heard this I thought of you and Addison. Thankfully though b/c of God's wonderful miracle the cancereous tumor turned out to be lung tissue and they operated this week. So I toast and praise God for not only taking care of Addison and my little friend Canon but also Baby Peyton. Wonderful news...I will drink a Diet Cherry Coke in her honor. Cheers!

Gravatar Praise our precious Jesus for healing more than the physical. He touches more than our hearts, and He knows exactly what we need. May He continue to carry you and your sweet family each step of this journey.

Addison is darling, as usual. I love the crocs!! I have a pair the exact same color : )

Gravatar i'm crying.

the picture of her, post surgery? i've never seen such a young baby with that expression on her face! it's so 'see? told ya I'd pull through. HA!'

Gravatar I can't think of anything eloquent to say. Just wow. Praise God for this milestone! What a beautiful girl!

Gravatar The scars always tell beautiful stories. Even stories with hard fought battles, have happy endings. But then again, isn't an ending always just another beginning?

I think so---You celebrate today, so do we. We are home, safe once again.

Much love to sweet Addison.

Gwen & Ivey +

Gravatar Sometimes scars are left to remind us of the healing.

Praise God.

Gravatar Six months...wow...I remember that long, long breath-holding day like it was last week. Look at her now. So happy and chubby and just thriving.

(She looks so cute in her little "heart" outfit.

xoxoxo

Gravatar Oh, Sarah! How precious! How beautiful! God is so good, isn't He? I have chills all over me from reading your post. Where I feel my own heart is breaking from a battle I am fighting in my life right now, I can feel hope from the One who knows how it all turns out. Thanks so much for sharing.

Gravatar Praise God from whom all blessings flow! What a work He has done in little Addison's life (and yours and Chris').

She is just beautiful!

Gravatar Thank you for sharing her story. She's beautiful

Gravatar It seems hard to believe that was six months ago. That new photo is precious. My cousin has a heart problem. The way the doctors explain it, her heart isn't put together in the proper way. She had open heart surgery as a teenager. She celebrated her thirtieth birthday in December.

Blessings to you!

Gravatar I am choking back tears. What a miracle that she is ok!!!! I can't even imagine how terrifying that must have been.

Gravatar Thanks for sharing your families story, your posts have ministered to me me in so many ways throughout this past year. Addison looks so beautiful. God bless you and your family.

Gravatar oh sarah, that post made me cry. what a precious baby and a precious family.

Gravatar Exhaling with you. Loving you all. God carries us, step by step.

Gravatar Priase God for His love and mercy, and for giving that beautiful little girl new life. Wow amazing seeing the difference of six months, she doesn't even look like the same baby. She is sooo cute....God does good work

Gravatar Celebrating sweet Addie with you!

Gravatar Dad and I looked at the post-surgery photos; he'd never seen them, or her back when she had it. It's amazing to see how far she's come, but of course this post very poignantly reminds us it was a journey taken by more than just Miss Addison.

BTW, her valentine's outfit - precious!

Gravatar What a precious gift she is. Such a sweetie!

Gravatar Bless you and your little girl. Thank you for sharing this story. What a wonderful testimony of triumph.

Gravatar Your verse for the day is perfect for this post! The Lord is our deliverer and how He did show it through your precious miracle, Addison!

In Him, Amy

Gravatar Sarah, it is just incredible to see what God has done in Addison's short little life. What a blessing she is!

And that picture at the end makes me want to kiss those little cheeks.

Gravatar Thanks for sharing Addison's sweet story. I pray that the Lord will continue to bless her.

Gravatar Oh Sarah, your words match the sweetness of the photos. Toasting you and that precious baby through tears. Praise the Lord, and may He bless her always.

Gravatar I haven't even READ this post yet (oh I will), BUT the pictures alone made my heart drop. This is THE sweetest little girl in the world. Truly.

Okay, now off to read the post!
