Thank you for your comment!

Gravatar We have two crazy Vizslas (I guess that makes it "CVS" in our house?) and I just discovered the best treatment: Calm-Quil tablets. They're an herbal formula you can pick up at Petco (and elsewhere, I would imagine)... they don't seem to have any nasty side-effects and work like a charm! If they can calm Vizslas, they can calm anybody!

Gravatar Lindy had that and thats why she tried to hide under the baseboard heat in our house in Pville. Theres a reason God makes most dogs so cute - we'd never put up with them otherwise.

Gravatar I think I told you about the time my dog broke into the neighbor's house. Oh, she was crazy alright. And CO doesn't have a ton of rain, but it sure does thunder. She'd eat through barbed wire if she could to get closer to "safety".

Oh, yeah...she was a lab mix.

Now, we have a dog with allergies. There is never any question on how we spend our money: house, kids, dogs, us. In that order.

Gravatar Have you read "Marley and Me" Sarah? My piano teacher handed it to me a couple of weeks ago. I reluctantly began to read it and found myself laughing, crying and longing for our old family dog Shep.
It will encourage you immensely, and help you know you are absolutely not alone.
I'm so touched by your compassion for the dogs. They give such unconditional love and ask only that we love them back.
By the way, I used to sit in the basement with Shep when it began to thunder. He made a beeline for the cellar steps the minute it even began to feel as though a storm was coming. He was a huge German Shepherd, but he was terrified of thunder.

Gravatar Don't be surprised if the cat gives you a litter of little surprises in a couple of months. That may be why she idsappeared for a week. Are you excited? (Grason cracks me up.)

xoxo

Gravatar I think your pets need to join a therapy group .

Gravatar frustrated, I meant. When am I going to start proofing my comments? Sorry!

Gravatar I think you're a saint. Seriously.

To think I get fruestrated with my 10 pound shih tzu occassionally chewing up tissues.

Love that you can maintain your good humour and share the tales with us Hope the mealtonin helps!

Gravatar I have the Thunderstorm Anxiety Golden. The last thunderstorm we let her in and then forgot about her. I looked for her before we went to bed and assumed my husband had let her out. The next morning we could not find her and the children were starting to panic. My daughter finally went up to her room (she has Thunderstorm Anxiety, so she did not sleep there) and said "I smell a Golden". A big bushy tail started wagging from under the bed. The dog had gotten under her bed and then could not get out. She spent fourteen hours under that bed. The next thunderstorm she got on top of the bed and would not get off. Lesson learned I guess!!

Gravatar Thanks for the definitions!!! Our older, female lab is getting close to 2 and has become a wonderful, sweet and calm dog. Her husband, who happens to be a 1 year old male lab just may have the same syndrome as yours... thank goodness they are only outside dogs... my front loader has enough trouble of it's own!!!

Gravatar Melatonin for an anxious dog, huh? I need to look into that. Our sheltie goes crazy when it rains, or my husband mows the lawn - more like chasing, barking hyper than anxious; but if it keeps up for too long, I'm the one wanting anxiety med.!

Gravatar Wow. What "colorful" pets you have! I think I am now going to get over the fact that our Golden Retriever licks her paws too much and then ocassionally gets fur stuck in her throat. By the way, our Golden was a SPAZ for four years but then calmed down and has been very easy and enjoyable since. So hang in there with your Lab.

Glad your cat came back. Great news! Maybe OC will wander back sometime as well...

Gravatar I'm dying over your dog trying to get in the washer. That's too much!

Gravatar my daughter, natalie has a large airdale. she runs for the bathtub at the slightest hint of rain and will stay there ALL day! ridiculous!
