As your fellow unreconstructed lunatic you know that I agree with you, but the crime statistics you've presented don't really work as an argument in the absence of a control group; otherwise it's just post hoc ergo propter hoc. I wouldn't be to keen on performing the kind of experiment you'd need to do to figure this one out empirically, so I guess we're stuck with arguing on principle.

You're right about this information proving or disproving anything. All we have is correlation, but not causality.
Now, we can say, though, that there has been no bloodletting of the type predicted by those who want our guns. That has simply not come to pass, so far, which is all I was really trying to point out.
