Love it, love it, love it. One challenge to this way of thinking, however, is that kids are simply not learning how to THINK in school. This is a bit of a long-term problem, yes?

But the challenges we are facing currently are definitely forcing a higher level of creativity and outside-the-box thinking than we have seen in a while.

You are totally right, Pattie, about it being a long-term issue. Which is why, imo, we need more community-centered efforts--even at the neighborhood block level--that inspire children to learn/practice critical thinking skills.
