I always think the same thing when I'm driving on the Princeville Jubilee Blacktop. So many cyclist. Not much shoulder of the road.
I would like to think if I were an avid bicyclist I'd not just be concerned about my "right" to cycle, but also my safety!
A good friend of mine hit a bicyclist 15 years ago. It was an accident. The biker was on a back road riding in the middle of the road on a blind curve. My friend came around the curve at less than the posted speed limit and hit her. She later died from the injuries. In addition to all of the legal hassles he has been saddled with for the last 15 years, there has been the horrible emotional trauma that he has endured.
Bikers need to think about where they are in the road at all times. They have responsibilities too.
