Happy Birthday!
I hope to make it to 55 (and to happy, too!)
I'm with you on feeling 22. And, at 38, I find I'm less concerned about aspects of aging that I thought would freak me out (getting wrinkles, cellulite, etc) when I was younger and more concerned about all that stuff I hadn't considered, like how getting little sleep for just a few nights totally kicks me in the ass, and how sleeping "wrong" can make my whole body hurt. I'm way more bummed about those physical effects than anything else.

I remember about a week before the big FIVE OH I got the AARP thing in the mail. I joined up ... what the heck ... 10% hotel discounts. My younger brother 'bout had a coronary when his bright red AARP spam mail showed up on his 50. I'm with you on the important things ... be happy. Take the discounts. Be a curmudgeon. It is good to be old enough you can "forget" something and people actually believe you. For years I thought a "senior moment" had something to do with the senior prom ... Oh Well.

Happy, happy birthday to my old chum! Enjoy your 55th--I'm looking forward to mine next year. Now go out and buy yourself something with your senior citizen discount.
