Congrats on the new ride! :D
We've done our car shopping on the net after making the decision on what make and model we want. At the dealership we just point out the exact one and what we are going to pay for it.
It's worked out very well so far.

I had actually just made that same comment to a friend the other day... the most important thing in my next vehicle (current car has about 104,000 miles on it) will be gas mileage and cupholders...ones that will conform to any size beverage without wearing out! I am easy to please!

Congratulations. I have never owned a new car, not ever, despite being married for 10+ years to a car salesman. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but once the kidlings are driving I'm getting a new car. (Oh, yeah, we'll be paying out the butt on car insurance for teen drivers, so maybe not).

I want the next vehicle I own to have a ram bar and hard points for mounting weapons.
The way shit is going down hill these days I figure it'll come in handy...

I won't give up my 91' Chevy Beretta...it's not only got cup holders BUT it's got an ashtray and a lighter! Oh Yeah!

It tasted like it'd been filtered through Kareem Abdul Jabar's sweaty jockstrap.
Do you have any scientific studies to compare this taste test with?? *L* I agree, most of the time you're better off sticking with water to drink at places like that!

I did a buncha research online too, Pam. I looked at about 4 or 5 models that had what I wanted. They were all basically clones of each other, so when it came right down to an actual decision, I picked based on the dealership's service department. I'd taken my old car there for various things and was pretty pleased with their whole attitude.
Jen, this is my very first new car. Well...of my own, I mean.
Grau, if money was no object, I'd have chosen some big-assed ole SUV or FWD truck with bullet-proof windows and a cow pusher on the front, too.
A Hum-Vee...with air and cup holders...yea. That's it.

Michele, I probably should have said "Of course I can't be sure, but it tasted what I imagine it would taste like had it been filtered through KAJ's sweaty jockstrap." heheh
Sue, mine doesn't have an ashtray, but it has two lighter...what?..."outlet" thingies. But no lighter, of course.
I suppose they're just rechargers for all my electronic gadgetry. Like the cell phone I don't have.

Nothing like the smell of a new car! Congrats (how the hell did you score a nice salesman?)

I know the feeling. I buy a new pickup every three to four years and it is seldom that I make a deal the first time in a dealership..usually walk on them and wait for the phone call accepting my offer.

I was nodding in agreement throughout this whole post until I came to your coffee paragraph and bust out laughing. I think the same damn thing every time we end up in the car dealership.
YOu're right about the cupholders, too. Very Important.
I hate car shopping with a passion. It's right up there with root canals and trying on bathing suits.

Well good on Ya for getting some new wheels with a minimum of hassle. You are completely right about the coffee, its universally bad at every dealership I've ever walked into.
Enjoy your new wheels and some (hopefully) trouble-free miles and months of new car ownership.
