Drive on Knoxville by Cub Foods and see how many "people" try to cross in the middle of 5pm traffic. I hear ya sister. It's not racism. It's people who lack complete common sense, but are willing to give you the finger because you are following the law (the one that every one no matter what creed or color who lives in America is supposed to follow). One of these days after a long day at work and when I am sick of people's shit I am going to use them as my personal target. You want me to get the fuck out of your way then get the fuck out of mine. Use the damn crosswalk that is what is there for and when I am stopped at the red light so you can cross, cross the damn street. Don't wait for me to get the green light and expect me to wait so you can cross. Ok I am done now.

Wow, there's another "Jennifer"? What a surprise....
I live in Princeville and last year we had a similar, "teenagers standing in the middle of the street, without the sense to get out of the way of a moving car" problem. Being Princeville, these were white kids (underage, smoking, kinda trashy white kids) and it pissed me off to no end. I especially liked how they would try to stare you down, like you are invading their territory by driving down your own street. Sheeshhh...
It does seem crazy that anyone would view this as a racism problem, isn't it more of a jay walking, public safety problem?

People like Don Jackson and Al Sharpton don't want good race relations because that puts them out of business. They have to stir the shit pot as much as possible to keep their jobs. Is there still racism? Yes, but some of the things they try to turn into racism are utterly ridiculous. Why don't they do something positive instead of fueling the racial divide?
I live in the East Bluff and we have sidewalks that go unused because the kids walk down the middle of the street. I try to avoid going anywhere when it is time for the high schools and junior highs to let out because you just can't drive. These little asshats think that the world revolves around them and that the rest of us are at their mercy. It has been so bad at times that one police officer told us to just run them over (he "acted" like he was joking). I have honestly thought about doing it. I'm sure a jury of my peers (people who deal with this shit on a daily basis also) would find me not quilty.

Being the liberal that I am, I am also disappointed with how behavior like this is likened to important civil rights actions of the past.
I could understand it if say a particular neighborhood was completely preventing a group of students from walking through their neighborhood because of race, but I'm like anyone else in Peoria - there is an issue about youths refusing to get out of the road for drivers and even when sidewalks are present.

Just try the neutral rev and watch em dive for the sidewalk. I just love to do that, when you are approaching rogue teens in question drop it into neutral and coast up to them, when you are real close and they stand tough staring, just floor it.... the engine sound usually sends them running and or diving for the curb, the closer you are the better. Good times.......Good times.
