That creep isn't gone yet. I have a feeling he'll be back like one of those corpses in Day of the Dead, eating his own children if necessary to fulfill his greedy hunger, and assisting his fellow zombie like followers to fulfill theirs. The only real cure for Tom Delay is to blow his head off with a high powered rifle.

Dude, I hate DeLay as much as anyone else, but don't be saying shit like that. Even if you're just joking.

Why shouldn't people hate us, after all half the populations specializes in being hateful most of the time. Witness Rush Limbaugh, and the posters on this site. It's hard not to hate people that smugly dismiss everything you say that they disagree with.
Which group are you a part of, lequino, the half that "specializes in being hateful most the time" or the other half? I may disagree with the Democratic leadership on most issues, but "blow his head off with a high powered rifle"?
When I was 13 years old, someone actually followed through on your little fantasy, lequino. If you were old enough to remember what happened at Dealey Plaza back in '63 and how it affected this country (Republican and Democrat alike), to say nothing of the widow and two young children left behind, you wouldn't even joke about something like that.
And they say that conservatives are hateful! Thanks, blogarillo, for trying to police your own. I'll try to do the same with my side of the political spectrum.

uh I already told blog I was sorry if I offended him. As for the comment about Delay I was joking. I'm obviously not the kind of guy who would actually shoot someone. I don't even own a gun. I was simply trying to illustrate the mindless quality of some Republicans...you know zombies...the only way to stop them. Ah well it seems repression of expression rules at every turn. I would like to continue posting so ...I'm sorry. Will that do?

I really don't wish to offend anyone here...except of course those arguing on the Republican/Fascist side of things. I will try to moderate my comments. As for hateful comments, I've had my fill of being called a Communist, and a weak kneed liberal by Republicans. As far as I'm concerned those people can take a leap at ... oops.
On Talk Amarillo I once posted a column in which I compiled comments made by righties in which I simply changed their comment to the reverse. My column was immediatly removed by the moderator while the other columns remained. So please don't ban me from this site as well because you don't think I'm polite enough. I say it's time for Democrats and liberals to stop being so damned polite. It's time to give the righties a bit of their own medicine and show them quite clearly what they've been dishing out. Limbaugh and Hannity and all of those jerks say whatever they want all of the time. Then they cry like babies when Democrats dish it out in return. The real weaklings here are the righties trembling behind their tanks and bazookas blasting away at whatever they can. It's time we called a spade a spade boys. The Republicans are scared and on the run and that means get your pens and start laying down some real truth.

I understood lequino's comment in context as a reference to zombie movies, though I can also understand the instant reactions to the phrase "blew his head off etc." I can vouch for the fact that lequino did not mean it literally. Similar to the situiation with Allen Finegold, I guess. I don't know Allen personally, so, based on his writings, I can entertain the notion that he might conspire with Republicans to shut down public schools. Y'all don't know lequino, so you assume he might actually blow off Tom Delay's head.
He won't, and we've all certainly made ill-chosen comments in the past. I'd certainly hate to see us start banning our own people just to prove that we'll police our own, particularly when we allow far far far far far far far worse comments from the right-wing trolls. And, CT, it's easy to say you police your own, but I haven't seen you do it. Much. Yet.

In this day and age of the new McCarthyism we just need to choose our words carefully. The joke that lequino was making was obvious to me but some humorless government spook may not be so understanding. They aren't going to start checking up on us because of celtictexan's racist rants. Statements about blowing off the head of a congressman, even jokingly, are another matter.

As I say, I do understand both your reaction and the need for caution regarding humorless govt spooks. Which is one reason that I stress that I know lequino personally and know that he ain't going to blow anyone's head off.

Lequino raises a good point about the right getting away with murder (pun definitely intended). Ann Coulter has become wealthy spewing the vilest of hate and intimations of violence against anyone to the left of Attila the Hun. Where is the condemnation of the right about this sort of filth?

lequina, I understand your comment in context of zombie movies. I think it crossed the line when it was directed at a specific individual. If you had kept it as zombified conservatives, I doubt there would had been as visceral (is that the right word?) of a response. You also need to include a smiley
braaaiiinsss I would recommend everyone to watch the original Romero zombie flicks. He always mixes social commentary with blood and guts.
And for any fans of tremors, troma films and 80's horror flicks, go see Slither. It followed the formula pretty close. Quite a few innovative gags, and lots of laughs.

Not to get back to the original topic, but has anyone noticed that Cynthia McKinney's media blitz has sucked all the oxygen from the Tom DeLay story?
I heard someone point out this morning that Ronnie Earle might have actually done the Republicans a favor last year by indicting DeLay so early, thereby forcing the GOP to remove him from his leadership position. DeLay's fall would have been greater if it hadn't been in stages.
